The key to beating the Crows is really simple ( albeit not that easy to execute ) You simply can’t give them inside 50s because their forwards are the most accurate in the comp. The likes of Walker, Fogarty, Rankine and Rachelle don’t miss very often and you either don’t allow them entries in the first place or you absolutely need to nail your one on one match ups on these four. System rules over personnel but there’s even more emphasis on winning one out contests against these guys because the stakes are so high if you don’t. Murphy and Adams are both big ins but if Pendlebury misses, it’s all cancelled out. Travelling on a five day turn around doesn’t help but as Fly said, this turnaround hasn’t come as a surprise to them either.
Hopefully we get the job done but either way, I’ve seen enough to know we’re a better side than last year, regardless of this weekends result.

I agree with that. Kreuger stays in for mine, unless we've suddenly solved our rucking dilemma (which we can't rely on Johnson as 2nd ruck). Kreuger will be better for the run, and with him only playing just under 3 quarters is hopefully still fit enough on a 5 day break.piedys wrote:Krueger unlucky, as I thought the stats didn't reflect his attack on the ball.

Yes, it's so obvious isn't it - there are 2 "locked in" Anzac round games. So in the years where these are early-in-the-week games it should followed by Ess vs Dees and Coll vs Tigers (can't really be us vs Dees because King's Bday is 6 weeks apart).Clifton Hill-Billy wrote:Gather round in Adelaide, Anzac day and 5 day turn around to go back to Adelaide is biased scheduling against us in the extreme, we should have played the tuggers at the G but we've already beaten them
Collingwood & Essendon are easy kills for the next round. It seems to be Geelong that has benefitted greatly from this. I know they twice played us off a short break after Anzac Day (within the past 5-6 years), and now they get Essendon - either very lucky or deliberate favouritism.

Yes, but surely Murph comes in for Ruscoe and the sub is always “dropped”Skids wrote:I thought Ruscoe was solid and the composure of Will, with his few minutes on the ground was exceptional. What'sinaname wrote:Pendles will likely miss.
The other outs will be Ruscoe and Kelly (as the dropped sub)
In Adams, Murph.

I don't see any issue with a 5 day break.
We beat the Gold Coast after ANZAC day (5 day break) last year.
These guys are finely tuned athletes, with the best medicos looking after their welfare. I ran half marathons with 5 day breaks (multiple times) after drinking beer like it was going out of fashion and even set a PB at 42 years of age.
Pies by plenty.
