Geelong have started the season 0-3. They are just the fourth reigning Premiers in VFL/AFL history to do so. The others are: Melbourne (1942), Collingwood (1959) and North Melbourne (1976). Melbourne snapped their streak in R4 against Hawthorn. North snapped their streak in R4 against St Kilda. However Collingwood would go 0-5 before defeating Footscray in R6.
