Sabrina Frederick is expected to become a Magpie as early as Monday.

AFLW team doing what the men need to do and target a FF.

182 cm, 24 years old.
2× AFL Women's All-Australian team: 2017, 2018.

She has played for Richmond and Brisbane.

Alison Downie is expected to be signed as a Delisted Free Agency as a short-term cover for the retired Sharni Norder. She was Carltons ruck.

182 cm, 37 years old.
3x WNBL champion (2004, 2005, 2012)... not that it means anything in footy, but at least she's a winner.

Sabrina Frederick is a swap for Maddie Shevlin who will go to the Tigers (her 3rd club).

Disappointed that Maddie will leave but she was not able to get a permanent spot in the AFLW side.

Frederick will be a handy pick up if she can get her body right. From the games I saw she struggled with injury and fitness this year. Didn't seem to be as mobile as she was with the Lions. She can ruck which also handy.

Downie will add experience to the Pies - she was part of the Carlton leadership group - and has proven to be resilient not missing any games.

Collingwood have snared veteran Carlton tall and former champion basketballer Alison Downie to be the club's No.1 ruck for next year's AFLW season.

After playing every game for the Blues in the first five years of the competition, Downie crossed to the Magpies as a free agent.
