Crows Clearout?
As fast as you can turn it around and be a contender, is as fast as it cal fall apart too.
This time 2 years ago the Crows were 1st on the ladder and found themselves playing in the GF.
Sadly for everyone in the entire universe, they were ran over by Richmond.
Last year they fell off and finished 12th, and they will miss out again in 2019. Currently the Bulldogs are spanking them.
There seems to be a bit of unrest at the club, which brings up the subject of players and coaches moving on.
So lets have a look and see if we can find a missing piece to the puzzle.
Hugh Greenwood, 27 years old, 190 cm, midfield/forward.
He can take a high flying mark and kick a goal, but I dont think he is a natural FF. Was a late starter to the sport as he was a gifted basketball player who tried out for the Utah Jazz and played for the Perth Wildcats. He'd have no problem fitting in with our boys who all love basketball.
Has played 50 games in three seasons with the Crows. His contract is up, which makes him easier to get, but I dont think he fills an urgent need as we have a lot of this type of player. I think we should still have a look.

Eddie Betts, 32, 174 cm, Forward.
Some will think offering him a year may be a good idea. I think he is too old for Collingwood to consider. He will get another contract somewhere. But I just think he has slowed down too much and I'd rather stick with Elliott.

Josh Jenkins, 30, 200 cm, Forward.
If only he was a few years younger. He is a FF and we are in the market for one. I think he's been struggling with injuries and I'm sure we can find a better option. He kicks bags of 4 when he's out there, but can he play 22 games and a finals series?

Taylor Walker, 29, 195 cm, Forward.
Is he a better option? At least he seems to be able to play a full season and is worth around 40 goals. He is their captain, so I doubt he leaves anyway. Would need to be traded for and I wouldnt be willing to offer anything big to satisfy the Crows. He's almost 30. But we need a goal kicker so badly!!

Sam Jacobs, 31, 202 cm, Ruck.
O'Brien looked ok early and seemed to have taken his spot. There's a few clubs in the market for a starting ruckman. We are not. However we need a backup ruckman rather desperately I think. Is Jacobs prepared to take on the Ben Hudson role? If he is, then he is an option. At 31, we wont be able to offer him a long deal or anything. Ryder, Ceglar, Goldstein, Cameron are amongst the other rucks that could move on.

Jake Kelly, 24, 190cm, Defender.
We all knew this name would pop up. We passed on him as a rookie father-son pick and the Crows swooped. We now have his younger brother on the list and it makes sense to bring him home. He also fits a need we have in the backline. Contract is up so we should be able to make a reasonable offer for him.

Theres a few other players of interest in there, but I'll let someone else look into them including trading for a Crouch, or Knight, or Keath.... and Seedsman.

No, he's not!! (Well, the feeling in the media is that he's effectively been demoted.) Do you reckon he'd leave if another club offered him their captaincy?Presti35 wrote:...

That club would have to be into cultish torture camps, etc.

Crows players question review panel, two officials set to come under fire
https://www.afl.com.au/news/2019-09-02/ ... under-fire
"It is believed Walker has been in deep thought about his role with Adelaide since its season ended two weeks ago, and people close to him have seen him become worn down not just with the Crows but Adelaide the city."
How can you be worn down by Adelaide the city??
The article says the players don't like Dunstall & Pavlich being on the review panel.
