The footy show is ending, its gawn, and I cant say im at all surprised, it just ran outa gas, same old, passe, lost its zing. old hat, I much prefer the Mangarook show.

Haven't watched the Footy Show for over a decade but I enjoy The Front Bar. Sam Pang is a lot smarter than Molloy and is able to keep him in his place. My wife has no interest in footy but watches it as well.

I prefer The Front Bar as well. Much better show with plenty of humour and some great guests.

I've always liked Sam Newman, but in the PC world we live in today, he no longer has a place on TV. I think the The Footy Show died the day the scandal about Lyon and Brownless broke and it's got progressively worse since then.

The biggest problem with The Footy Show is it doesn't know whether it's supposed to be a funny show like The Front Bar, or whether it's a serious show. The fact that it's a hybrid of both doesn't work in my opinion.

It used to be better back when Sam was free and able to do his thing.

Remember Chickengate? The St Kilda Schoolgirl? The Caro blow up doll? Those were the days my friends. That's the stuff you'd watch the footy show for, not tips that are wrong half the time or sad hamstring jokes or Brayshaw saying 'oh no no no no' to things.

Maybe the show has run its course.

Well, in its original incarnation, TFS had Trevor Marmalade as its real comedian. He was really the key ingredient of its success. Channel 7 reacted by poaching the AFL stars on TFS --- completely the wrong people to poach. Now, TFS has no comedian and it shows.

With Ed returning I might have given it another chance but he made a bad call adding meathead Fevola and my shit don't stink Judd to the panel.

The formula just feels so dated now and The Front Bar is far better viewing even if Molloy resembles your stereotypical Richmond flog.
