How do we feel about these two getting the 2012 Brownlow?

I think the right call was made. But it doesn't seem right that Cotchin is a Brownlow medallist and Pendlebury still is not.

It'd sting a bit harder for Essendon fans to see Mitchell awarded, so that's a good thing.

It's a strange circumstance, but they'd probably both feel a little robbed of not being awarded it on the night.

Congrats to Dane Swan who is now the official runner up in 2012. This means his run from 2010 to 2013 is 3rd, 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Geez, a couple more votes could have seen him win a few more Charlies. Wouldn't that have been something!

I don't feel sorry for Watson! I'm sick of the media narrative that he's being painted as a "scapegoat" or "victim" or some kind of hero for returning his Brownlow before the official date of the hearing.

It's strange that Cotchin and Mitchell are Brownlow winners, but it was an awkward outcome for the AFL either way.

AFL asked Cotch and Mitchell the other week on their thoughts to whether they should receive it or not, I believe. Okay, what if one said, 'no worries, I'll take', it an the other said, 'no way'.

2010: 3rd spot. 6 votes behind the winner.

2011: Winner. 4 votes in front of Mitchell.

2012: 2nd place. 1 vote behind newly joint winners.

2013: 3rd. 2 votes behind winner.

Ghee Wizz. Our Dane was so close to being a three time Brownlow medal winner. Imagine that!? The AFL would have no choice but to elevate him to Legend status in the future! :P

Oh well, at least he won one, which is a lot more than many other great players.
