Is Collingwood finally a genuine chance to get Riewoldt?

:P

Geez, many of those names would have been huge 4 or 5 seasons back.

Hopefully one of Fyfe, Rockliff, Kennedy x2 or Martin will come to Pieland. I'd expect a little bit of interest thrown at Trengove and Zaharakis too. And also the yearly interest in Sam Reid.

Screw it, I'd even throw an offer at Picken just to right a wrong.

Give me a spine of Keefe, Reid, Pendlebury, Reid & Moore.

That'll do pig, that'll do

Would still take Tom Rockliff (27 next offseason). He is AA quality, but we'll see how he goes under a new coach. Honestly tho, I think if we really wanted him, he would be a Pie already.

Would still take David Zaharakis (27), but maybe we dont need help in that area. Besides he'll never leave Essendon.

Would definitely take Nat Fyfe (25), but we'll see how he goes coming back from a broken leg. I feel like he's open to a move to Victoria. And to one of the big clubs.

Would still take Luke Breust (27), but again, we have that area covered?

Would obviously take Dustin Martin (26). The best player available. But he'll be looking for a pay packet.

I think I'd still take Josh Kennedy (WCE) (30). Even tho he is 30, he always kicks goals. Doubtful that he'd leave W.A. again.

Would take Sam Reid (25). Brother connection, age is right and helps our KPP stocks. This is a real chance of happening I reckon. How good is he tho?

Would still go for Josh Kennedy (SS) (29). I think he'll remain a Swan, but you never know. Wouldn't be that surprised to see him back at the Hawks

And yes, I'd take Liam Picken (31). But it would never happen; age and list need. Sentiment has no place in footy, but I just wish he won his flag with us.

Not much to do on a Tuesday night after work.

Fyfe will be a hawk next year lock it in. Hodge & Burgoyne won't go around again so they will have the cash to secure him plus he will be able to earn mega $$ off the field in Melbourne.

Well no.
Collingwood
Tyson Goldsack
Lachlan Keefe
Ben Sinclair
Josh Thomas
You'd think Sack might look to another club if he doesn't get much game time in 2017. But would another club throw a lifeline? He's a handy back up utility, but we'll see what happens this season.

Keeffe and Thomas would be shifty as hell to walk away from the club after what happened.

And Sinclair, who I think would be in our best team, is having terrible luck with injury and concussion. So I don't think many offers will come his way. A change od scenery or a new start could be the best thing for him tho. Could be a steal for another club if he got it all together.

But yes. There's no Pendleburys or Sidebottoms to worry about. If any of these signed on elsewhere, I don't think we'd lose too much sleep.

Reid (25) yes, but I'm not sure about Levi Casboult, who'll be 27 in a week.

I think we don't need too much help in the middle, but you wouldn't say no to Fyfe. We really need to look at talls, but there isn't too much to choose from this year.

I'd expect zero room in the 2018 cap after securing Wells and Mayne in panic buys late last year. Wouldn't go banking on anymore free agents this year.
And if these two don't produce in 2017 for the money they are on, heads will roll, carve it in stone.

Good point.

Is this why we didn't go after Rockliff after all?

Depends if you think our window is open, opening or opened.

Say what you will about Casboult, but he can mark the thing. Bring Sav Rocca back from Carlton as his coach and who knows?

The talk has always been that the Reid brothers have wanted to play together, and since Ben isn't moving to Sydney...

Barring that, we might have to do something audacious and do a smash-and-grab job on a weak club with a monster offer. Perhaps Gold Coast with Tom Lynch, due to fall out of contract next season in a Free Agency year...

Funnily enough, the talk has been that we're actually paying the bare minimum of the cap (95%) this year, so that we can take advantage of the new rules that would allow us to pay 105% next year. The theory is that it was one of the reasons for trading Cloke (a salary dump)...
