Think you are a bit hard on Beamsy. A great player for us who decided he preferred Brisbane for whatever reasons. We have done extremely well from that trade. Isn't his a sim ilar case to Treloar, Adams and Aishe?

Harsh. Don't forget he could have sat out the 2009 season and signed on for Gold Coast Suns for the 2010 lead up season playing NEAFL before coming into the AFL in 2011. We were lucky that he nominated and played for us and was part of the 2010 premiership.

If he was fit to play in 2011 he may have been the difference in the GF. We'll never know. Honestly I don't care about Brisbane or their players. His choice to leave so bugger him injured or not but always a Collingwood premiership player!

a bit harsh. don't want to wish injury on any player. we need the good players to be playing.

am annoyed cos yesterday i drafted him in my uf league and then read the news later that night.

Oh I am harsh. Sick and tired of dealing with players and bullshit excuses when its always about the money. Would love to hear the truth.

^ sad fact of footy life now. if a player wants to leave they (read manager) will find a way.

Exactly and contracts are not worth the paper they are printed on. :D

Just as well - imagine if we hadn't been able to empty him out and get a couple of complete midfielders in his place - we might still have to watch him plodding slowly through the midfield, unable to clear the lines and kicking along the boundary to contests for another season.

Indeed. Where there's a will there's a relative.

Its wrong when a player wants to leave us and OK when we get a player from another side.
Its not only about money other factors are also considered

Clubs trade in and out all the time, I think we did well with this trade and don't think we should really care what happens to beams.

It'll be interesting to see if this turns into a 12 week injury.

Two things that should never appear in the same sentence: a player getting injured and "karma".

He's made his choice. We've done well out of the deal. Let's move on.
