Something out of left field, but if we could draft him for nothing or next to, I think he'd be a useful acquisition down back. Thoughts? He's got at least three more years in him.

I'll add that he's just the kind of player that a team like Hawthorn might look at and I'd rather he came to the Pies. Plus he was a co-captain and I think his leadership skills would really accelerate our list.

3 years may be a stretch however his last game was encouraging for the Lions. Only a year older than Toovey.

I've always rated him highly and as we're likely to delist a few players, there'd be room for him. He'd be handy as the cherry on top.

30 in November.
No I wouldn't get him because of the age factor.
But he may do a Leigh Brown, who knows.

Pass.

As discussed in JW's 2015 trade thread.

Football is sadly becoming more and more ageist. There's always a window in professional sport but with the direction the competition is heading, it's unfortunate that players are being moved on maybe a little prematurely.

It depends on how close we think we are to being a top side. This certainly wouldn't be the worst decision we've made. It would only work if he's cheap. Anyway food for thought...

All good, I'm just being too lazy to write my reasoning again.

EDIT: Ok, now I feel guilty... here's what I wrote then and please note the Blair reference is because Adcock was suggested as a Blair replacement.

Yeah, pass. I think we've endured 2-3 years of playing huge numbers of <50 gamers getting experience and exposure into them and fail to see how playing a 30 year old not quite good enough to be retained on the Bears list player does anything to progress the development of those kids. If anything, it's a negative list management strategy as players like Broomhead, BK, Fasolo, Elliott, Abbott, Goodyear, Scharenberg, Marsh etc have 1 less senior spot available to them.

And before you get too carried away suggesting he could take Blair's spot please check the stats (link below). Blair's got him covered and he's a few years younger. I'd be happy to see Blair overtaken but it should be by 1 of our emerging kids, not someone who's career has come to an end and isn't performing as well.

Having spoken to a couple lions people who have watched him this season, the comment back is, don't be fooled by his last game. They seem to think his best footy has quickly passed him by on the back of his season in total.

If you're going to bring someone in who is over 30, they need to be very good. I don't think Adcock's good enough.
