Their last, and to this date sole, victory over the Seagulls was the 2009 2nd Semi Final. Of the team that triumphed that day, only four players remain on Collingwood's list (Nathan Brown, Ben Reid, Jarryd Blair and Lachlan Keeffe), while two others remain in the AFL at different clubs (Chris Dawes at Melbourne and Danny Stanley at Gold Coast).

Over to you...

A word to the wise, DTM: it doesn't matter what the bureau forecasts, it's virtually always windy and horrible at Willy this time of year.

Someone we know quite well is speaking at the pre-game function:

Wonder if they'll be showing highlights of his 1 game for them on a screen somewhere...? :D

The Seagulls are also running some activities for the kids as well:

And no, I'm not on the Williamstown payroll. Just putting it out there for those who are interested... :)

Was thinking of staying over in the big smoke and going to this game. The last time I went there I spent the whole day trying to find a way to stay warm. Thick jacket, beanie and scarf and still froze to death. I might give it a miss. Perhaps When I see the team selected I may change my mind.

We will have Blair, Reid, White, Oxley, Kennedy, Sinclair, Young, Scharenberg, Goodyear, Manteit, Gault, Cox, Armstrong, Marsh and Karnezis which makes 15 listed players. Dare I say it maybe even Freeman. So we do have a chance.

No Ox, being rested. 14 listed players in selected team. Gus Borthwick another game... A kid who can win a hard ball and tackles like a demon. A forward line including Reid, Gault and White. Surely one of those plays back to help Marsh and Pendlebury. Strange to see J.Blairs in same team. This team should give it a shake.

gussy borthwick has been a real poster boy of late. i am just hoping for no rain on sunday. wind i can deal with.

we're inching closer to a top four spot. only a few more weeks left of the season proper. just need to keep winning, obviously.

I've done a bit of ladder predicting, and we basically need to win every game from here on, as you say. If we were to sweep all our remaining games, I have us finishing 3rd, about 9 to 10% behind Sandringham in 2nd.

Lose on Sunday (which considering our record is highly probable) but win our remaining home games and my predictor has us finishing in 5th, behind Essendon on percentage.

If we want to play our final at Vic Park (where we have been unbeatable this year) AND get the double chance, we need to not drop a game, Sandy to drop one on their run home and/or hand out some hidings to boost our percentage. That loss to Casey could really hurt...

Or we could just back or forward line to win a shoot out.

Willy only have two proper tall targets in that named forward line (Clouston at 193cm and Tighe at 199cm). Casely is 192cm also. Marsh and Pendlebury can probably take them, with a bit of 3rd man up from someone like Scharenberg.

The problem is going to come from trying to hold their smalls, who are the ones who kick their goals for them. Anastasio, Galluci and Dunnell (plays smaller than his 189cm) have between them kicked 63 goals this year. Sinclair helps, and Lachie Wallace is okay as a small defender, but I don't quite see a matchup for Dunnell, who loves playing against us. Jeremy Taylor, maybe?
