How is this for underhanded?

I usually get a mate of mine a 3-match Essendon membership for his Birthday present because that is all the games he can get to. This year I noticed the outstanding amount was $90, instead of the $75 I expected. After viewing the itemised invoice online, it appears that they have included an (optional) $15 donation towards their new amenities.

Not only do you need to 'opt out' to not pay the donation, they would have just taken it out of my account if the membership was set up to automatically roll over. Luckily I don't save my Credit Card details on their website, we all know it is really a desperate grab towards recouping the money the club has squandered on James Hird.

Well with the golden boy in charge Essendon will always be underhanded and tainted! Actually they'll always be tainted with the golden boy in charge or not.

Hird's revered status at the club has clouded the club's overall judgement on this whole situation with ASADA and taking them to court in the first place even though Essendon has decided not to appeal but Hird has decided to appeal against Justice Middleton's findings back in September that saw Essendon lose its case against in ASADA in proving that ASADA did actually act lawfully within its powers to investigate Essendon's supplements program. After all Essendon did 'self-report'.

The club is a running joke now!

The hidden donation on their 22 game memberships is $50. I'd be livid if Collingwood had the audacity to pull a swindle like that on me.
