How is this for underhanded?
I usually get a mate of mine a 3-match Essendon membership for his Birthday present because that is all the games he can get to. This year I noticed the outstanding amount was $90, instead of the $75 I expected. After viewing the itemised invoice online, it appears that they have included an (optional) $15 donation towards their new amenities.
Not only do you need to 'opt out' to not pay the donation, they would have just taken it out of my account if the membership was set up to automatically roll over. Luckily I don't save my Credit Card details on their website, we all know it is really a desperate grab towards recouping the money the club has squandered on James Hird.
