After his pleas were entered, Perth magistrate Paul Heany told the court Garlett had revealed to a psychiatrist he developed an addiction to methylamphetamine during his six-month stay with Hawthorn and turned to crime to feed it.
That's some culture going there at Hawthorn.

Kind of a long bow stui, don't think it's fair to blame the hawks. Bit if personal responsibility, unless they had their own weapon!

Meth is an evil drug- especially when young, dumb, 'invincible' men are involved.
Probably the reason Hawks got rid of him

Hawks took him as a hail mary pick and quickly realised it wasn't going to work. This rooster has a kid doesn't he? All sympathies to the kid who will probably have to stay with this idjit, because well, lets not go there.

What a waste of a potentially great career but he chose that path and now he has to live with the consequences that are dealt to him.

Dave although he had a choice and still does addiction is a tough battle to face surrounded by people who love and care let alone once you've been cut off.
Now his choice is whether this addiction becomes a health issue or a criminal issue.

And 2 preseason games for Webster. Sends a message after Milne , not. They really have the media bluffed with that family club rubbish. Lets look at a weaker club, take a player and nearly every other club pays. You wonder whether Mick Miller and Jeans covered stuff up in the past. The penalty to Heath Shaw was clearly over the top.

It was always going to be a risk either way but this time it just blew up in their faces!

Nevertheless they stuffed it up with Garlett in the long-term.
Short-term they would have won a flag with Garlett or not.
