Paddy Ryder shall go to Swans!

I have no doubt Ryder if leaves the club, shall pursue the swans as a destination club. All of these murmurings about Brisbane and GWS are smokescreens and Stinky Paul Connors whose silence is deafening is doing the old "Liam Pickering" trick negotiating with other clubs whilst having a Buddy type negotiation going on with the Swans.

Come trade week you'll hear this from Andrew Ireland:

" It's nothing to do with C.O.L.A. With Ryan O'Keefe departing, Adam Goodes (retiring or contract downscaled) plus subsequent delistings, we have shored up the necessary funds to bring Patty in"......... etc......

Spin Spin Spin. Paddy shall join his indigenous brothers such as Buddy, Jetta etc...

And as usual the AFL manipulate the competition to support their "flavour of the month" that is invariably an interstate side. Their Brisbane effort cost us two premiership 1 and Essendon the other.

On the flip side they screw the Pies this year with the game scheduling and they paid the price short term by a drop in crowds and the club will pay both short and long term by a $1m drop in revenue this year and a drop in membership next year.

Dimwit Dimetriou has a lot to answer for.

I'd think the Lions or Suns, seems he wants to go to Queensland according to the rumours. Though I guess more money can trump wanting to go somewhere else.

Shame too ...how nice would our forward line look with Ryder coming out of Full forward and pitch hitting in the ruck! ...not that we have the cash...and i gues the argument would that even if we got him we would have to move on one of Witts or Grundy ...which would hurt as both are going to be guns!

The players won't even get 2 months, let alone 2 years.

It's officially been declared that Paddy Ryder will leave Essendon at the end of the season.

Rumours are emerging that Port Adelaide, Brisbane and GWS are the clubs strongly looking for his services. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the Swans swoop on him just like they have with Tippett and Franklin in the past two years.

Imagine the out cry if he did go to the swans.

Surely not. Surely.

When does this COLA rort end?

I think the AFL was saying it was planning to get rid of it at the start of the year after much pressure from the public and several AFL clubs including ours were pushing for this agenda.

However I think they're planning to ease it out of the competition slowly so it doesn't disrupt the current contracts that the Swans players are on. It's outrageous they still have this concession to be honest as they are now an established AFL club.
