They may well win that legal battle but it won't necessarily save the players from a suspension ultimately. It will most definately delay it though. It's definately got a bit of 'smokescreen' about it from the real issue.

The next step will be the players suing the Essendon club.

This is shameful.

Even if they won the case, what would getting off on a technicality prove?

Essendon have said all along: when all of the details come out we'll be in a strong position. Now, when they are about to be given a chance to tell their side, they launch a court bid against the legality of the investigation. Shameful. To me, this says one of two things: they are guilty and know it, or they think they aren't guilty but have no way of proving it. Either way, the players should be facing sanctions.

Essendon need to stop hiding behind legal argument and start showing that they did no wrong. If they can't, they need to instruct their players to work with ASADA and receive the lowest possible penalty.

And Paul Little now says it's all about protecting the players? A bit late for that one. Where was this duty of care when they were being injected with who knows what?

Protecting the players would be proving the club's innocence not obfuscating with technical legal arguments.

Yep 100%

And if it's stall tactics, ban the players while they wait, cos that's bullshit

I see Little said the players that have since left are represented by their legal team too. That is their biggest worry. Players breaking ranks. Especially those that are now elsewhere.

When the first one cracks, that's when we get the truth
