Darcy Moore - a first round pick?

apologies if this has already been posted but i have a question about darcy moore ...
if we were to pick him up as a father/son, is it likely we'd have to give up our first round pick for him? does he warrant a first rounder?
i was thinking about how we traded for pick 6 and whether the reason is to do with already allocating next year's first round pick to select moore.

^To early to tell JW as from what I've read he's either been injured or on the recovery trail and playing underdone over the last year or so.
At this stage you'd have to say he isn't a first round selection going on his performances but that might change depending on what he can produce next year at U18 level.
I don't think the club has a real idea either to be honest of his worth and is probably one of the reasons they want him to play in the TAC cup next year against his peers and not at VFL level.

don't want to influence the draft, but it is in our best interests if he does not play at all next year, so we can pick him as low as possible

^The problem is we just don't know for certain the quality of player he might become.
We passed on Stewart when it was considered for a long time it was a certainty we would select him as a father/son pick.
I hope to God Moore lives up to the hype but at present I don't think we know one way or another.
Look at Elijah Edwards for example.
P.S-If Hine likes what he sees early on at TAC level next year we may persuade him to pull out of the competition to try and mask his worth.

There's no guarantee the club will even pick him.

A smartarse club like Freo, or Eagles, will make an offer to force us to use a first round pick. It will come unstuck but has so far been a tactic. They did it with McDonald. In years to come they will have their own FS picks and Vic clubs will remember that. But if Moore is rated top 20 you can back it in. It won't be a bottom club because say it was the Aints they would have to give up a very high choice if we called their bluff.

McDonald is arguably top 5 talent, so the Weagles were well within their rights to bid. Wouldn't call that being a smartarse.
I don't think other clubs would be willing to take the chance on bidding first round if Moore isn't worth it. Hine has already shown he has no issues with overlooking F/S picks, as demonstrated with Stewart last year and only nominating Kelly as a rookie this year.
I have no doubt Hine would pass on Moore if he thought he was being forced to pay overs.

Didn't happen with Viney at Melbourne last year which allowed them to get him for a steal 2nd round pick.

Clubs can't bluff when bidding for other clubs potential father/son.
If North don't match the offer for McDonald then WCE have to select him with their first pick. Recruiters these days would not do that unless they are absolutely sure they are worth it.

When? He's not eligible for the rookie draft this year.
