Reserves into prelim

Post by Dale61 »

The Williamstown reserves team has kept the Seagulls flag flying after an impressive win over the Box Hill Hawks on the weekend.

The win has placed the reserves into a Preliminary Final showdown against Port Melbourne, which is to be played at Port Melbourne's home ground on Saturday 14th September beginning at 10:15am.

Williamstown suffered a loss to Port in their Qualifying Final encounter, however beat the Borough the two times that the two sides met during the Home and Away season.

The reserves looked to be in trouble at three quarter time, holding onto a 1 point lead but kicking into a 3 goal wind. However the players stood strong and came away 5 point victors.

Terry Knight played his best game for this club on the weekend and was well supported by the ever reliable Matthew Cape, Jeremy Dukes, Leith Teakle and Justin Crow.

The Williamstown Football Club calls on all our supporters to get behind the reserves as they aim to go one better than last season when they lost the Grand Final.

I hope so too Dale - hope Leith gets to play as well - rolled his ankle in the last 1/4. I should be there to see the game with a bit of luck.
