could of been a percentage booster,
but we were tested and it was heartening to see us hold steed.

essendon have had the wood over us for a while now, this win will really help us.

Good to see Trav, Rocca & Neon amongst the goals. For once this season the problem seems to have been down back, not up forward. Good to fight back after it looked like we would be overrun.

at half time i got a little carried away thinking about our percentage boost

disappointing. take the 4 points but what a waste when we could have got good percentage! it will most likely come down to percentage, so really need to boost this in the next 4 weeks!

How poor were the midfield today! Swan, Burns, Johnson, Licuria and O'Bree!

Forwards had a good day, the backs were a bit loose, and the umpiring was heavily biased yet again in their favour. how many times did Lucas and McVeigh get frees for lying all over a pies player, drag the ball under thwm and get a holding the ball decision! !@#$% the bummers suck and at least we have beaten them twice in a season for the first time since 1997!!

Couldnt make it to the game today- but were our mids down today??

Good fight back by us, I knew at half-time the bombers would come back, but didnt expect them to get as close as 9 pts....very stressful!!!

In the end a good win, great to see Ant back - how important is he to our side?? Great win Pies, well fought out. Just goes to show though, there are no easy wins!

Yep. I thought so.

They were never going to go belly up so our effort was full of merit to absorb their all-out 3rd quarter desperation and re-assert our ownership on the game in the last.

observations and open questions

-Rocca you beautie

-Why was Mr Burns at full back at times?

-Malthouse has just finished his press conference suggesting almost everyone (including Clement) could be played in the forward line. He is a mad bastard and I love him for it.

-Maxwell doesn't have class, but he has heart in spades

-Cloke is going to be a blue ribbon player
