that was some of the worst umpiring I have ever seen in my life!! didak gets penalised for deliberate out of bounds, then they do a similar kick out of their backline and nothing happens. didak touches hasleby and he takes an academy award dive and they get a down-field free to that lovo Pavlich (man i hate that guy, he loves himself so much!) who kicks a goal. webster marks over the line, should be out of bounds on the full, and then they say it was juggled over the line and from the throw in a lazy richards lets sandilands get the easiest goal. !@#$ that was such a frustrating game.

i'll take the 4 points but why do collingwood always have to scrap a win week after week? biggest win of the year is 33 points! we can never put teams away.

we all feel your pain, we need a big percentage. Still there's a few games to go yet,but we have to get our kicking right. It was ok,still needs improvement.

Well done Magpies!!!!!!!!!!. Feels good to beat the dockers!!.

I had a realisation at 10 past 10pm tonight - WE ARE A BLOODY GOOD FOOTBALL SIDE

One of the very best.

It seems my post match summaries take the same format. Poor first half, grind back into the game, overrun them, then hang on.

We play a disciplined game of footy. Importantly its one which will win finals. Last year we came up against the club that is the one that does have a game to beat us. They just run us off our feet. Dont allow to many contests. But back to tonight.

I thought we really struggled early. They won the clearances, had first use of the footy and were very clean with their disposals. Richards was being badly beaten in the ruck, Maxwell was getting towelled up by Tazz and we could not settle in the back half. Josh Carr and Hasleby did what they wanted. Thomas and CLoke missed when they should not have but we started to control the contested footy and get back in the game. In many ways we should have been in front going into the last.

In the second it was not dissimilar - we finished 5pts down but controlled the game and wasted our chances. Pendles, Rocca, Swan, Burns, Holland, Davis really lifted.

In the third and again we butchered it a little with Fraser, Thomas missing but we started to use the corridor and move the footy really well. Didak and Davis were fabulous and Johnson started to really make a statement. Pendles was consistent and Cloke was a target. Fraser also started to run Sandlilands. We should have been further in front late but what was really pleasing was our ability to keep the pressure on and keep getting the next goal.

The last was all over 10 mins in. They had a go early but tapered and we ran them off their legs. We did let them back in late with Thomas, Pendles and Didak doing some silly stuff. But Swan and Rocca were sensational along with the ever improving Mr Burns. The last few minutes Rocca and Burns went back and provided the steadiness that Clement and H.Shaw provide. It was a terrific win and the second best of the year. They are a talented side Freo but they just dont work hard enough when it counts.

Some player comments;

L.Davis - terrific game and took the mark of the year. Also has goal of the year. Did some really beaut things and his goals were ones that we needed at the time. 7/10

A.Didak - Bit quiet at times but did some very good things and his effort for that goal in the third was bloody good. 6/10

B.Holland - Thought he got us back in the game early and then shut down Josh Carr. Was tough and was solid coming out of the back half. 7/10

P.Medhurst - Worked hard and was clearly up. Field kicking at times was poor but they had to watch him. He always looked dangerous and again that effort in the third in the Dids goal was special. 5/10

S.Pendlebury - This kid will win a brownlow. Wonderful decision maker and that effort going back with the footy in the last was up lifting. 9/10

S.OBree - Smashed early by Carr but came back and did some good things and ran hard. 5/10

D.Thomas - NOt sure he was fit, if he was he was tired. Needs a rest. Couple of bad misses but you'd have in the side every time. His efforts are really good. He will dominate AFL footy at some stage. 5/10

S.Burns - Outstanding Mr Burns. 9/10

C.Tarrant - Played a wonderful game for us. 10/10

G.Richards - Hopeless. Only good thing he did was stick his knees into Sandilands all night. Smashed at stoppages and cost us at least 2 goals. 2/10

R.Shaw - Ok. Ran well at times. Surprised Lyon had him as one of his 3 worst on the ground. 5/10

A.Rocca - Should be our capt. Wonderful game. Hard as nails and kicked really well. 9/10

T.Lockyer - clearly tired from Lions match. Ok but again they ran off him early. Great spoil in the last. 6.5/10

J.Fraser - really really good. Hurt Sandilands by running fwd and being a target. Was v good at centre bounces. 7.5/10

B.Johnson - another good game on the comeback trail. Wonderful goal that really was required. 7.5/10

N.Maxwell - smashed early but really came back well. When Soly got him I thought it was great. He took his best and got up and kept on. 6.5/10

H.Obrien - Look he was beaten. Pavlich dominated the game and should have won it for them by kicking straight. Remember though that Maxy had one on him and theother came from a relayed kick so Harry did keep on trying and was never far away. But you love this kid because his second efforts are terrific. 5.5/10

T.Cloke - I actually really liked his game. Missed a couple of shots when we could have done with them. But he presented and was strong taking a number of contested marks. I was surprised by his stats. Thought he was more influential 6.5/10

A.Toovey - not good after trying to keep Hasleby quiet and failing. Had little influence on the game. 2/10

S.Prestigiacomo - was good wasnt he. Struggled to settle early as Pav and Tazz worked him over. Did what he had to though and his fist was always close. Made Tarrant push up the ground late. 7/10

D.Swan - BOG and turned the game our way and then was the one that put the screws in. Some of his stoppage work was as good as I have seen. 9/10

T.Goldsack - really good game. Was tough and was a good decision maker. Smother was good. Worst effort was his holding the ball which was bad. Coming on though. Nice user of the pill. Lyon had him as one of the 3 worst on ground. Clearly thought Grover, McPharlin, Headland, Toovey, Webster etc were better??? 5/10

H.Shaw - hurt early and never came back. 1/10

Sure there were the Neon goals and the Medhurst 1%er, but my highlight was seeing Pendles give Tarrant a livid spray at the 3/4 break, sticking up for o'bree.

The kid bleeds B&W.

Richards is going to get some criticism, but i thought his game tonight was unreal. I thought he did soooo many good things. There is not a ruckman in the AFL who has beat Sandilands this year in hitouts. Guy was never going to beat him. However he gave his all, and we won the clearences. He ran in every time with a full head of steam

I take my hate off to Guy

I noticed at the end of the game Tarrant was shaking hands with some of the collingwood boys and Pendles approached him with hand out and Taz just turned his back to him! Taz is a sore loosing mongrel and has lost my respect even if he did play for the pies. Suffer in your jocks Tarrant!!!
