That's just freakin' ridiculous. what a stupid arsed comment. Mighty effort, undermanned, busted their guts and where tired in the last 20 minutes of the match simply due to a much better team running them off their feet. If anything it's very encouraging, especially when Bucks, Dids and Holland will return.
Billy Picken, the great No. 25 in the sky!

Great first half by the boys against a team we should never have gotten close to. Rocca looked good (that big goal was AWESOME), Davis getting goals - the pressure our forwards put on was excellent.
I haven't taken my jumper off yet - I'm proud of how the pies played tonight so haven't thrown my jumper off in anger and frustration.
Love the look of Thomas by the way - he's something special.

The Rocca report was RIDICULOUS!!! All the commentators even thought it was rubbish (and if Tim Lane is on our side then it MUST be wrong!).
Just a thought, does anyone think we missed Tarrant tonight? Personally, I don't think we did - Rocca seems much more confident about hitting packs and moving the ball on without Taz in his way. Any comments?
ps I thought Michael Voss was really good in the comm box - no bias from him, and he actually noticed that there were other weevils on the field apart from judd and kerr

Good grief!
You lot are the ones who should be dropped.
We played pretty darn good against a top quality side.
Our ruck & talls did very, very well.
Our old & slow midfield nearly carried the game away with them.
And yes some missed shots at goal occurred. By BOTH teams.
Try barracking FOR Collingwood you mob!

Ill be pretty critical of Cloke tonight. Before i lay into him, i want to comment on his role in teh side. He was very important to us tonight. He pushed up the ground, managed to take 8 marks, and generalyl was our go to man coming out of defence. You cant drop him because there is no one else capable of doing that role. He showed me glimpses tonight of what he can do. Played very well in teh first quarter, then dropped right off. However he has tenacity, his 2nd efforts are good, and he can tackle. He has some aggression about him which is more than i can say about his brother Cameron.
That said, you have to be honest about his game tonight. His problem is his football brain. He basically is a stupid footballer at the moment. In the last quarter, he had a chance to spot up Dale Thomas on a lead, but held off, then eventually kicked when it was too late and caused an easy turnover.
Further, he knows only to bomb it long up forward. This is not a bad thing because Rocca was on fire tonight, and i can see his line of thinking...but his kicks were either up and under, often overcooked which brought Roccas opponent into it, came off the side of teh boot, were awkward looking torps etc.
If you are going to bomb it long, only do it when your man is one out and in good position. Then kick it long and penetrative. Dont let the defender see to much of it. Cloke just bombs it without looking and makes life soooo tough. Then he often goes to Medhurst or Davis against 2. He has to be patient. Only kick long if Rocca is one out, or Medhurst has a good matchup one out.
Otherwise, if he is going to lead up, he has to be patient enough to find a good option, or lay it off to someone running past to open things up.
Another point is that when he pushes up forward into the goal square, he doesnt lead enough. He can be lazy. He just sits there and clogs up Rocca's space really. He is in the side to be the lead up CHF. He cannot be stationary. It may mean fitness issues, but i think its often laziness and lack of football brain.
Generally his field kicking is ok...but tonight it was scratchy at best. The next point i want to make is his mis-timing for marks. He often goes to early. He also 2-grabs it too much. He needs to be cleaner with his hands.
Buttttt.......he is totally undroppable at the moment as we have no forward to take his place. Buckley will make an impact, but he's a few weeks off.
I only criticise because i see a future. He is truly an exciting player, but has a long way to go. I think his role this year looks suited to him. He is very quick for a big man and a very good leader. He doesnt read the play all that badly. He is presenting most of teh time. He just needs to smarten up a bit i think.
Overall about a 4 out of 10 from Trav tonight, and his kicking was awful. But i have a lot of faith in him

I thought we were good for the first three quarters. The last quarter we we were out played but showed guts to keep the margin to two goals. Some very promising signs for our club. I thought most of the guys played pretty good. Having Didak and Buckley out there in that last quarter would have probably made a big difference, but our younger guys really stood up especially with the second and third effort at the ball.

Its all about our skills. Remember our 4 best field kicks and kicks on goal are on the sidelines. Buckley, Didak, Lonie and Holland all out tonight. These are teh guys that hit targets, and kick goals under pressure. Wouldve made a difference.
But those guys only match Cox, Fletcher, Hansen and Cousins...that said Hansen was right to play but wasnt picked because the forward line did well enough last week, cousins wont play much of the year, and fletchers role is easily accounted for by players like Rosa, Waters, Priddis and Jones who all get stacks of it. Cox was their big ommission, our outs were just as telling if not more
