Armchair view of how we beat the doggies

For those that can attend the games friday footy is great,but for those of us interstate its very frustrating.

I had friday off work,played golf and then the plan was to watch a few videos until 8.30 then watch the 4 hr delayed telecast.

Most plans i make come unstuck,so did this one.

The 4 some i played a round with were rather excellent drinkers and by the time i got home i was 3 parts to the wind and had absolutely no hope of staying awake until midnight.

So i listened to it on the ABC radio,then for a change i watched the replay after work on saturday.

generally i dont bother,but it sounded like a game worth watching so i did.

sober as a judge,it sort of took a bit of the stress out of it.

Pine seating was arranged for Obree,Swan,Lika and Rhyce Shaw.
Wakes was a last minute exclusion,luckily davies had done the warm up just for fun and was stripped and ready to go.
funny that.

A free to the carrotseller and another to Josh and the pies open the nights scoring with josh goaling from the square.
he made up for my mistake last week when i called him a goal kicker.


Ground is a bit wet as players do the slipppery slide a bit.

Apparently eagleton brought his own footy and before you could say get me a can please the dogs had 4 goals on the board and eagleton had his umpteenth kick for the game.

taz slides and marks and goals for us.

Rocca goaled,rewarded for his second efforts in a contest.
heath shaw gives the dogs a gift goal via the scumps,then taz slots another thru and we have the makings of a classic shoot out.

Dogs look quicker than us early.
Street marks and goals while josh was wandering around upfield wanting a rest.

leon goals a tank engine knock on and we go in for the first break 1 goal in arrears.

The AFL have painted lots of lovely signage on the oval,but there was one sign missing.

cam Cloke looked like a bank robber who had opened one of those money bags covered in dye.

The backline are working hard,handballs a plenty.
Swan bombed long and daks roved and goaled.

Carrots who has been excellent so far drops a mark my sister would have taken in the goal square and its our first point for the game.

leon does one of commettis centermetre perfect passes which hits taz on the tit..Pt.

It took the dogs 8.4 seconds to get the ball into the hands of a player 30 out and he goaled

Its a bit of a shootout interrupted by sections of flooding.

Taz marks another leon perfect pass and gets 50 for some reason and goals.

Then something very strange happened.
Tazza got a free kick for being held!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and he slotted thru his 4th major for the game.

The game has slowed down a tad and we seem to take a grip on the match.

Rocca then tackles Murphy out of footy for 12 months and the dogs are down to only 2 on the pine and its not half time yet.
I hate seeing blokes do their knees,but it was an accident like most of them are.

Max has been good but has trouble in marking contests,he should learn to go the punch.
Grant outmarks him and goals.


Burns goals and its followed up by a magical leon goal and its finger wagging good.

Ant does the roving and crumbed a goal and we went 20 up

make that 14 as max is outmarked again,this time by robbins.

3 seconds to half time Leon gets a free on the chalk in the pocket.
GOAL!!

12.5=77 plays 9.3=57

Lika crumbs and goals to open the second half and we go 6 goals clear.

see saw footy with goals at either end in quick succession.

Josh dobs one on the run from 50 but its not allowed as taz was pinged for whacking morris in the gob.
was accidental but may be considered reckless.
2 goals to ANT then one to daks and we go 6 goals up again.
Daks has already given off about 5 goals to others and has a couple himself as well.

Dogs find new leash of life and slam on 3 quick sausage rolls.
Then Maxwell is outmarked again,this time its skipper and he goals

and just on siren time max is pinged and its a 10 point game

16.6 =102 plays 14.8 =92.

A minute into the final term ANT sets up swan and he goals.

More great work from ANT,swan goals again.

Max is outmarked by johnson this time and the dogs goal again.

I was hoping to hear the large woman singing by now,but the song being played is
Blinded by the light.

As a couple of players lose the ball in the glare.

Swan is on fire,has 4 bounces ,passes to ANt and he goals again. 10 minutes to go we are 25 up and then Daks makes it 31.
if i had a gold jacket id put it on now.

the unfaithful fishkisser is singing the orbison hit id been waiting for.
ITS over.
Carrots and leon both hit the post as we try to increase the margin.

Tv shows ANT knocking harris over and taz head butting a doggie player.

Silly buggers!! no need for that at this stage of the night.

we then decide its milking time and play chippety chip back and forth,eventually swan bangs his 3rd for the qtr thru and its siren time.

Pies win a good game by 35 points.

Votes were hard to give as there were plenty of candidates.

I liked lonies game as a tagging back man,he did it well showed he can do more than just run free.
