So do we have any chance at all? What ins and outs are we expecting?

I think we are capable of winning BUT I'm thinking it's more likely to be a 29 point loss!

GO PIES!

Looks like Ringhole will be back, surely he will be a bit concerned of his shoulder & that may actually help us. At least Hamil & Harvey are out, we're a chance, we are always a chance, depends if the guys want to play or not. I say tackle them hard & play tuff the saints are inexperienced young side & will crumble....

Riewoldt hopeful of AFL return
http://au.sports.yahoo.com/050209/2/3a2v.html

Injured St Kilda skipper Nick Riewoldt could be passed fit as early as Wednesday to return to the AFL.

The boom Saints forward, who re-injured his shoulder against the Western Bulldogs a fortnight ago, successfully completed a skills session on Tuesday and if ruled fit will play Friday against Collingwood at Telstra Dome.

"It's not a risk if he trains and he's okay and they declare him fit to play - I can't see where the risk is (of playing him Friday," assistant coach Matt Rendell said on the club's website.

"If there's any question mark he won't play - we've just got to wait and see how it is tomorrow. If it's not 100 per cent then he won't play."

Club doctors will assess Riewoldt's recovery on Wednesday.

It was initially thought Riewoldt would miss at least two months after he injured his right collarbone for the second time this season, against the Bulldogs.

The first injury, suffered against Brisbane in round one, had the skipper out of action for six weeks.

It was feared he had re-fractured the collarbone in round 14 against the Dogs, but further tests have revealed only a medium-grade AC joint strain.

"If there was a crack I'm pretty sure he'd still be unable to lift his arm up," Rendell said.

"That's why they think it's an AC joint and not a crack in there again.

"He's confident, but he was probably confident when he cracked it the first time that he'd be right in two weeks - he's a pretty confident sort of person."

Riewoldt's return would be a big boost for the Saints (6th; 36 points) looking to push for a place in the top four after three consecutive wins.

Out: T Cloke, Caracella, Lonie & anyone else who sits back and lets others do all the work.

In: H Shaw, B Shaw, Woey, J Cloke etc.

The disappointing part of last week was the weak efforts at the ball by some of the senior players. You would have thought after the Brisbane debacle they would have come out all guns blazing. Time to find out what the other players on our list are willing to do. If we play like last Friday then no chance, if we play like we can then a small chance only. They will probably be too quick and too tall for us.

Everything seems to point to a Aints victory...but who knows? Alot of our players SHOULD be playing their hearts out to possibly save their careers, if not with us ,at least to show the football world they can play! The balls in their court. Im a bit blase` at the result for the match. Wouldnt be so disappointed with the scoreline, as long as I see commitment, grit, directness and an all round improvement ('specially from the last 2 weeks insipid performances). Wanna see players playing til they can give no more, playing as a team, congratulating eachother after every goal and every HARD piece of play. Running in numbers, and HOLDING tackles til their fingers bleed! If they just go through the motions and dont seem interested, dont care about reputations,GO! Collingwood dosnt want you. Just want players who play for eachother and the Mighty Magpies. Now go and cream those Aints!!!!!!!!
Enjoy yourself. Its later than you think!

Beat me to it 3rd.
The amount of times this guy trys to duck a tackle and gets away with it annoys me no end. Talk about prior opportunity.

If the REAL Collingwood comes out to play, we have a game on.

If the tired, slow, soft, couldn't care less Collingwood team from last week reappears, the Saints by plenty.

My fervent hope and optimistic view is that we will see a much more physical and fully committed effort from the 'pies and they will push the Saints to the limit.

My son looked in the TV guide on Monday and saw Pies vs Aints on Friday and said "Shit, another Friday night of you getting pist and yelling and swearing at the TV"

And he said it like it was a bad thing.............

I'm seriously hoping that we will get over them but the kids are running out of gas.
C3 needs a break. Seriously, give the kid the week off. No matches. The kids are the future, lets not stuff their bodies up before they reach 20.

Keep Hall in the side. He did bugger all last week, but let's see if he's up to it.

Don't bring Ruz back in unless he's fit. (see above about not stuffing kids bodies up).

Give Billy Morrison a shot. He's done stuff all at willy and looks like being gone at the end of the year. Even Shak got one game before getting cut.

Tell them all that we expect no less than the level of commitment at the ball and at the man that we displayed in winning our games before Brisbane FUBAR'd us big time. If they aren't prepared to put their bodies on the line at the man and ball then don't let the door hit you on the ars on the way out of the club.

After all that: Pies by 7 and me to have a sore throat and headache on Saturday. :) :)

The Collingwood of rounds 8-14: Possible winners.

Collingwood of rounds 15-16: Losers. BIG time.

All depends on which side comes out to play. St.Kilda can be physically intimidated. I'd have a real go at them early. We need to watch Thompson and Powell - both great at the stoppages and can hit bodys hard. Thommo laid a whopping 9 tackles last week against the Tigers. Often slips under the guard.

IN: Davo (needs a chance), B.Shaw, Yakka, Didak, J.Cloke.
OUT: Hall (I hope not. Couldn't fit him in), Lonie, Cole, Rowe (needs a rest), Davis.

This match will be either:

a) Free flowing, how St.Kilda like it.

Or

b) Slow with plenty of stoppages. Which is how we like it. MM can outcoach Cornflakes Thomas. Anyone can. He is a good people manager, but IMO not a good coach.

The Saints have a poor record at TD this year, and have been bad under Riewoldt. We have to hit bodies hard, and shock them early. They started poorly last week.

Jason Cloke in for Koschitzkie. He is probably the only one who can hold him. Presti on the big G. Maxy on Reiwoldt.

Go Pies. Saints most likely to win by four goals, depending on which Magpie side comes out.

First installment of the Match Preview up tonight. :)

Maxy on Riewold? Good matchup that, may as well just let Riewoldt run around on his own up the field, thats how he likes it and it saves wasting a defender on him who will actually chase Riewoldt.

I would put Wakes or Clement on Riewoldt, neither of them or Maxwell could stop him, but I want someone who will punish his shoulder at every contest and an experienced, stronger opponent is the one we need to do this

We will get smashed, no doubt about it, but I would be happy to know we have ruined their season some more by taking Crybaby out

Does NO ONE notice the win loss thing from last year?

It was proven accurate yet again last week, against form, and means we will beat the Saints, as well as the next two before three humiliating losses to end the year. That means losing to Carlton. Oh joy!

2004 L W L L L L L W W W L L W L L W W W L L L
2005 L L W L L L L W W W L L W L L

So its a win then. It's not like we're not capable. We are still the only team to beat Wet Toast.

Point is: Who gives a rats?

Out: T.Cloke, Tarrant, Cara, Johnno. (No offense guys, I love ya dearly, but take a break, I have seldom been as disappointed in the match comm. as I was when they chose to drop NO ONE after THE most embarrasing loss of the last 20 years - there MUST be consequences to displays like that)

In: Booch, Daks, Woewie, J.Cloke

(Bucks at FF)
