Stick It Up em Fellas !

Well , our chances are slim I must say , & It will depend on which side turns up to play. If its the side of the last 5 - 6 weeks well then we should give them a real run for their money. I am banking on this side showing up , minus Didak (Idiot) of course.
I just wonder wether our boys are still in awe of Brisbane , which in the last few encounters seams to be the case. Hopefully with all the Newbies playing who havent faced them before they will take up the charge & our senior players will follow suit. Im expecting a real ding dong battle & hopefully we can rattle them early & continue our intensity throughout the game.
Would think we would have to Bring Leon back in for Didak , to add some spark to the forward line. Bucks must start the game in the middle to stamp his authority on the game early. Ruzza should start at FF as there is no way any fokkin Lion will keep with him on the lead & if our delivery is good he could be in for a bag. Tazza will get Mal or the Lepper more than likely & he can drag him up the ground a little to nullify his influence , start him on the Forward flank alongside big Trav. Really open that forward line up. Just worry about Ruzzas kicking a little.

Our backline has been grea but just wonder who we will match up on Bradshaw & that wanker Brown. I think Dutchy should get the job on Akerwanker & rough him the hell up early on.

Go Pies , I will stip ya & look forward to singing that song at the end.

I hope we put in a dignified effort but i've got a bad feeling about this one... i recon we're primed for a beating and they're primed to be the ones to deliver it....

I can see this one turning ugly very quickly, so im not getting my hopes up.

Having said that, our side is full of kids who dont know any better and this might help by them not carrying any scar's into the game.

As always, Go Pies. Please prove me wrong...
Beware the swooping Magpie.

We can win this if every goes to plan. Burnsy will be a tad more important then Dids with his agressions and toughness.

Where are we going to get the 2-3 goals from Dids?

let me put it this way - i would rather be beaten by carlton than lose to these bastards. I hate them true and true before i became black and white. I would rather watch a win against brisbane than any other team in the league.

These guys have disgusted me for the better part of my life and the boys need to take that attitude. SCUM ON MY BOOTS!! and as Egan eloquently put it after the Port win - "yeah and we're playing whoever next week"

Everyone says we're arrogant - lets bring some arrogance to these guys...say we're bastards - then bring some bastardism to em. We need to hit them like Port in 04 GF. We don't need to respect them to the state where we're in awe of their alleged "marvel" (i'd rather marvel grass growing around dog turd than marvel brisbane's "feat" - deny everything - accept nothing - don't give in an inch or they'll take a mile) If you can match brisbane kick for kick, punch for punch, sledge for sledge --- just watch their composure...

We need to win the mental battle - thats the only reason why we've lost to these guys in the past 3-4 years - they intimidate and we fall for it and some of the fans in here are still under that mindset. Give it up - we will never win if we dont believe that its possible.

At a loss to cover J. Brown if he is in the centre ... would have to be gang-tackled !! That will be the key to this game hassle and tackle. Brisbane are slow out of the backline and prone to turnovers ... Egan and Trav will have big games and Bucks is back in town !!

Carra is due for a bag and Leon will be keen as mustard. Taz given his weekly assessment should drag either Leper or Malevolent Michael to far to be effective.

Our rock solid backline will prove the difference again ....

Yeh i don't see anyone else that could replace Dids who could actually do a good job besides Leon.

I think Rustling, Tazza and Carecella MUST stand up and do a bit more to cover the loss of Dids. Also the midfielders would have to rise to yet another level for us to be a chance on Sat. Leon is a shoe in this week and it will be nice to see him perform at his very best for a change.
However as some others have said, I think our defence will hold the real key to our prospects. IF they keep things really tight and pressure the life out of their forwards and midfielders, it will certainly help our cause.
My prediction.......the Brions by 24.

As much as i dont want either of them to debut against the brions, i think that atleast one of the shaw boys need to come in. They have both been playing good football and we need to inject some pace into the team.

If we play our match ups right then we could walk away with a win.

Presti on Brown when he goes forward, then move clement on him when he moves up the ground.
Wakelin on Bradshaw.
86 on voss if he moves forward, Lones on him if he moves to the wing.
BJ on aker all day
Id also put swanny on power.

So if it was up to me

In: Shaw, Shaw
Out: Didak, Rowe

What is more likely to happen

In: Davis, Woey
Out, Didak, Rowe

I can't see Neon in this week. He has always struggled against the Lions.
