Australia v. India - VB. ODI
Virus won't stop Ponting
Fox Sports
AUSTRALIAN captain Ricky Ponting is expected to play in tomorrow's one-day cricket series opener against India at the MCG despite being hit by a stomach bug.
Ponting spent yesterday in bed after he became ill during predecessor Steve Waugh's post-match farewell party after the fourth Test against India in Sydney.
Ponting was also too ill to fly to Melbourne with his teammates yesterday.
But a Cricket Australia spokesman said Ponting would fly into Melbourne today and join his teammates for a light training session at the Junction Oval.
Ponting was unlikely to train heavily due to heavy workload in recent weeks but was on track to lead his side tomorrow, the spokesman said.
Ponting is due to hold a press conference at the ground at 2.30pm (AEDT

Since when does a hangover translate into a virus ??
Great start by the Aussies......for someone who is tired Gilly appears to be going well.
However with the Indian batting line up as good as it is and no McGrath the Aussies will want to have a big total.
Hopefully Sachin will entertain tonight

Very good fightback from the Aussies and they look like posting a huge total but im sure the Indians will chase hard.
India successfully chased over 300 against England in a final not so long ago......so hold on to your hats tonight.
