Match report Pies v Those WA Anchors..Bob Rose memorial game

On a cold windy day at the MCG the pies and freo were both in morning,
the pies were morning the loss of a favourite son and freo were mourning the loss of 2 million bucks as dud croad was dropped to the wafl.
MM was in tears and couldnt talk to his daughter on camera,such was the emotion involved in this game.
starting on the pine are Didak,Cole,Shaw,Willo.
umpires today are from the netherlands soccer team,and free kicks are not on the menu.I think friday nights umpys used up the weeks quota and there were none left for anyone else this week especially Tazza.

A masterstroke by MM has Brodie tagging Bell for the night and it works in spades.
2 minutes in and Cole is on already,dont know who went off,but Cole grubber dribbles a snap from 10 mtrs out and its a point to us to open proceedings.

freo have the advantage of a 4 goal wind but cannot penetrate our half back line.

5 minutes later taz marks again at 60 passes to woey at 40 and he goals.
Cole intercepts a freo sortie passes to Ant who soccers to the goal line and cheesy just gets his boot to it and we are 3 goals to nil up.into the wind.
Freo scrounge 2 goals in red time,taz marks on the siren and shoots but the wind gets hold of the nut and its a pt. 21-16 up at qtr time.

With the wind now,Ant has a snap over his shoulder from the 60 and it just misses.
Bloody big sandilands marks over Ant.Ant was in front and jumped,the big lurch just stood still behind him and marked it!!amazing.
farmer jags a goal for freo,soon after Shaw passes to brodie and he goals.
not only is brodie stopping bell he is hurting them on the board as well.
Woey marks and does a side shoe shuffle ,bangs long into the square Josh marks plays on and goals.
Cloke is doing his usual superb job down back,he passes to taz who inturn passes to cheesy who takes a clever mark behind a pack and its another sausage roll.
Cloke sets up cheesy who passes to brodie and he goals again.
pavlich goals for freo from the bounce down but from the next bounce cheesy goals with a snap from 40.we have their measure already.

Not much action early doors of the second half.both sides scramble a few points.
Ant had a bout of de ja vue,had a shot from the same fateful spot he was in in the GF..same result too...questionable point.
Woey bombs long into the square,the ball does a rebound u turn straight into the hands of didak and he goals.
I like to think Bob Rose had a hand in that from above.a bit of devine intervention never went astray.
taz takes yet another mark at the 60 ,passes to daks and he goals.
taz has been responsible for 4 goals already with his passes.
Shaw passes to taz who this time shoots for goal himself but misses.
Bucks goes long into the square Tazza tries the david beckham special mid air shot but hits the post.
just in red time freo finally manage a goal with the wind to bell.brodies only blemish for the night. i gave that contest to brodie 9-1.
Johnno liked becoming a goal kicker last week and he did a this away that away shuffle before sending the ball goal aways from 50.
Bucks long kick finds taz again and he goals himself this time.

Not much happened in the last qtr to write home about.
except willos air kick,when he missed his foot with the ball.
we held our lead well and kept freo on the ropes for the first 10 minutes then josh and burns goaled to put some icing on the memorial cake.
Just like last week kinnear got a lot of touches in the last 5 minutes,but not many before that.
game finishes with josh kicking his 3 rd sausage roll for the night.
pies 15.9=99 defeat freo wanchors 7.6=58

we had very little input from Molly,Lokan,Willo,Cole,LOnie and kinnear but still managed a comfortable win.
the season is just beginning for us.
