Fatoosh salad, we use:

Parsley, mint (home grown), coriander, diced: Lebanese cucumber, tomato (home grown), salad onion (home grown), thinly sliced radish, thinly sliced carrot, shredded or cut lettuce mixed with a vinaigrette of olive oil, lime / lemon, sumac, salt & pepper. Fresh, delicious & crunchy ( we don't use the oven baked pitta in it)

Baked homegrown spuds (the taste OMG) cut into long pieces & boiled for about 5 mins then drained, add olive oil, salt & pepper & bake.

Eye fillet steak - bought a roll of about 750 gm. Cut it in thick slices & put it on the cast iron griddle - 3 mins one side & 2 the other: rest & yum.

This is another recipe for the fattoush salad:

That salad sounds good.

So tonight it's Italian home made lasagna! Massive dish of it. Hmmm. So last week I made a batch of dried chicken breast dog snacks in the dehydrator, and I gave a baggie to my daughters boyfriend for their dog (or in case he gets hungry on the way home! Hey it's just jerky!) and tonight daughter came home from his place with a bloody big dish of lasagna! Not leftovers, she just made an extra dish of it! Now I've made extra sticky date loaves for people but a whole lasagna! I rang her and thanked her, but gees, Italians go so overboard with gifts! The mother and grand mother often send her home with baked stuff that looks shop bought but isn't! I just don't have the inclination to cook like that! I have no idea where to go here! She bought me a couple of things when they went on holidays to Europe, so I bought her something from the States, so She triples it when they went to Bali!

So anyway, dinner will be lovely! I can make a hell of a salad!

Mochachos - http://www.mochachos.com.au/

WA is the only state where you can get this.

Mochachos opened its first store in 1994 in Pretoria. At the time it was known as Mochachos Steak Villages. This store was one of the first outlets in South Africa to offer Mexican Dishes.

The Mochachos Chicken Villages concept is based on "Mexican Flavoured Flame Grilled Chicken" combined with a specialised Mexican Foods menu. The motivating factor for this choice was the demand for consumers for "exotic" and healthy dining.

The design and decor of the restaurants take advantage of the rich colours of Mexico which are blended into a warm and inviting ambience and provide customers with a "real" food experience.

Store designs are funky and modern and create the perfect ambiance for fun and comfortable dining.

Care has been taken to ensure that the cooking process is as healthy as possible by using dry herbs and spices.

Mochachos is not just about chicken. It's never been just about chicken. It's about pride, passion, courage, integrity and most of all, family.

Mochachos Franchises can now be found in Botswana, Zambia, Mauritius and Australia. The Mochachos fast-casual dining concept is unique and creates an equally distinctive customer experience.

The brand's core product is Flame-grilled Mexican Spiced Chicken and are famous for their flavoursome Chicken Burgers .However, the menu also involves a range of delicious and nutritious Burgers, Schwarmas and various Mexican meals including the Buritto, Fajita and Chimichangas.

Good gear!!!

Sounds interesting.

I had a BBQ last night with the family, eating outside. Got a cheap plastic pool from Bunnings for $34 and let the grandson run riot in it while I was cooking.

Then the little shit gets out of the pool and runs over to me cos he realises i'm cooking, starts reefing on my shorts and yelling cos he wants to see what Grandad is making for dinner. So i have to pick the little shit up and hold him in one arm, dripping bloody wet, while i deal with the BBQ.

Also made some Salsa Verde out of some home grown tomatillos. Dead set nailed it, tastes just like the stuff I ate at mexican cantinas in El Paso. The habenero i put in gives it some serious kick. I got mum to taste it and after she got her breath back she told me I could have that all to myself. :P

So did you buy it for the food or the pride, courage, integrity and family? ( try editing the sales pitch)

Not bad. I like Chili, my Thai Birds eyes, Habenaero, Trinidad Scorpion and Trinidad 7 pot are all covered in fruit. Want some?

The jalapeno is also doing well, but they're for snacking and salads, not hot enough for cooking.

I just made some home made vegetable soup for dinner tonight. bacon bones, onion, celery, carrot, cauliflower, garlic, ginger, sweet potato, curry powder and a few other herbs and spices til I got it tasting the way i wanted

Oh, you can shove the oysters up your arse. Horrible fkn things, taste like cancerous phlegm. They're a concentrated pollution tablet. Yuck.

The rest sounds quite edible.

geez, if I could plant some bacon bones and grow my own pigs that way, I'd plough the lawn.

bacon bones for flavour in the stock, it's full of veggies so it's vegetable soup. With bacon.
