Working in the kitchen has its bonuses!

We've had some rump steak, salt n pepper squid & chicken wing dings straight off the cooker.

12.30 she's stir frying some little lobster things for us. 8)

Well, something stuffed up. The ribs are as dry as a nun's bits. :?

kept a close eye on the temp, just over 100c, NFI what went wrong. Next time I'll try a pan of water in there.

Here's hoping the shoulder comes out well, it's in the oven on 120c with some apple juice marinade.

Cheers, first time in ages we've been out together for the weekend. Ended up at the Middle Park pub for dinner:

She had: potato gnocchi with thinly sliced & grilled asparagus, zucchini, goat feta & other bits & pieces very yum & a generous size glass of rose

& I had roast shoulder lamb in a red wine jus with un-light mashed creamy spuds, broccoli sprouts firm & roasted tiny onions, tiny cherry tomatoes etc.
delish. The roast came with house cab sav which was OK also a good size.

Shared a salad of shredded iceberg lettuce with mint & a mustard light dressing - simple and tasty for the whole meal. Very nice.

& we also had desert (guilt, guilt) sharing a sticky date pudding with yum ice-cream & a small baked cheese cake with a fruit top & ice cream.

Lovely.

Tonight:

Baked salmon with dill (& homemade tarter sauce)
Steamed broccoli & steamed beans
Ratatouille: diced red capsicum, tomatoes, zucchini, lady finger eggplant, 1/2 a small onion, mushrooms, garden basil, salt & pepper
Mashed spuds

Simple & tasty

Quick light dinner.

Got some small crumbed whiting fillets, pan fried

Steamed some prawn and ginger dumplings and some small pork buns (smaller than golf ball size) and had that with some green salad with honey orange dressing.

the old girl wasn't too sure of any of it, but she gave it a go and polished off the plate
