As the present Omicron event winds down, Australia will record at least 39 deaths today. That number is almost 50% above the highest number on any day in 2021 (27), so Omicron is not quite done with us, yet.
From the start of the Delta outbreak to the end of February 2022, month-by-month death totals, Australia-wide, have been:
Jun 2021 - 0
Jul 2021 - 14
Aug 2021 - 82
Sep 2021 - 283
Oct 2021 - 445
Nov 2021 - 272
Dec 2021 - 233
Jan 2022 - 1,519 (31 days - average number of deaths reported per day - 49)
Feb 2022 - 1,413 (28 days - average number of deaths reported per day - 50.46)
That's 2,932 COVID deaths in Australia in the first two months of 2022, following on from 2,239 deaths through the whole of the pandemic from commencement to 31 December 2021.

There have been 3,030 deaths reported since 1 January 2022, after 2,239 deaths through the whole prior period of the pandemic.
But it is just like having a "cold" stop worrying about it.
We should all still be wearing masks in shops and busy areas, I think the numbers are still going to get higher with people gathering for big events like music festivals and sports.

It's tolerably clear that document isn't what that tweet says it is. I'm pretty sure that Pfizer's vaccine doesn't, eg, cause Zika virus.
Here's the full document from which that extract has been taken: https://phmpt.org/wp-content/uploads/20 ... rience.pdf
It looks like that document has been in the public domain since 17 November 2021. See: https://phmpt.org/pfizers-documents/

But for the vast majority of people who are fully vaccinated, that's exactly what it's like. My daughter tested positive, she only got tested because she was a close contact otherwise she wouldn't have known she even had it.KenH wrote:Pies4shaw wrote:And today Australia has passed 3,000 deaths reported this year (in just 61 days).

You can wear a mask by all means if you want to, but all the evidence suggests this wave is well past it's peak.We should all still be wearing masks in shops and busy areas, I think the numbers are still going to get higher with people gathering for big events like music festivals and sports.
Hospitalisations peaked in late January at over 5000, it's now down to 1800 and still declining.
masks migh be mandated again come winter, but maybe not. For now it's personal choice. I see people wearing masks both indoors and outdoors. That's fine, I'm only wearing one where I have to.
Yes, more people will die each day. That is unfortunate, but I don't know what reasonable action could be taken that could prevent that at this stage of proceedings.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.
