I like the changes, we bring in another runner in Johnson and another Hard body in the middle in Burns, we create more space for Cloke and Pebs by not bringing in a third tall forward and if we need one we can use the resting ruck, and Egan can play tall up there as well.
They have stacked up with talls, if they win the supply it will pay off, if we can hold our own we should be able to run them off thier feet with the midfield rotations.
Egan can also play 3rd tall back, he has a great running jump, so our tall options back there are Brown, Wakes, Maxwell, Goldsack, O'Brien, Egan and even Heath can at least contest in the air against the big boys with his superior anticipation and courage.

I am not sure about the changes.
I have faith in Johno, but its a concern if he is not switched on 100%.
Brisbane have gone tall, and all i can think of is Wood playing majority ruck while fraser floats to find some form.
we better run them ragged or we will get smashed down back..

Good changes imo. I had earlier thought Clarke would be dropped but then thought MM would probably give him another week. It's probably a good wake-up call for young Marty at this stage of his career. I predict that once he earns his spot back he will never be dropped again. The other unlucky player is Reid, but he will no doubt get his chance very soon. This looks like the fastest side we've had for quite a while. The presence of both Burns and Johnno around the packs will make an enormous impact as they are both physical players. This will be a tough game, and we look tougher on paper than the Bears. Pies by 38 points.

All right, we'll go with the selected team.
But if i see Hooper and Brennan running amok again like R.17-2007, i'll projectile vomit like i haven't spewed since 2003 Grand Final.
I demand and expect nothing less than a 20 goal turn-around of that result. No excuses - the list is full.

If the boys are half as pumped as I am for this one then the only players running amok will be wearing the B&W!piedys wrote:All right, we'll go with the selected team.

Gee, I occasionally get one right!! Some quote about Monkeys and shakespear comes to mind!melliot wrote:Peter Daicos was on SEN this morning and said he thought Ego could be the replacement deep forward for Ruzza. Tend to agree. Gives us some good mobility. Ego is a little soft (maybe with some confidence will harden up a bit more and want to get involved), but has good pace and height as a leading forward moving deep or up to the flanks/wing. Also gives us another midfield rotation.
In fact I thought we functioned better when Ruzza went off. As I've said before, Ruzza is one dimensional and if that dimension doesn't work he is almost a liability. Anyone agree?
Wouldn't drop racer either. Was easily one of our best. Towelled up Headland in the middle and the Dockers moved him to F50 to prevent Racers pace advantage over him.
I'm a big fan of Reid and want him to get Games (Also in my Supercoach team!). Hard to argue for him to get a spot when Ego can play his role and rotate midfield and played well last week. Although Ried would strech the Lions defense.
So with Ego going forward, this leaves a midfield spot for either Johno or Burnsy. Both IMO are walk ups to our side if fully fit and match hardened. I predict Johno is in for a big one this year (like 2006). Has been playing really well in preseason games too. He also bring in good experiance, pace and leadership.
Also hard to leave out the Captian! Although I'm unaware of his fitness. Only played one preseason game and got hurt. Does he need another Praccy game? If fit play him IMO. OBree is one of our few clearance players. Burns would add to this.
So IMO.
Out: Ruzza In: Johno
Out: Clarke In: Burns (If ready to go)
Just think Clarke may need a game or 4 in the twos to get his form and feel for the game back . Just seemed a little lost to me. Not that he had a shocker. Just needs to get that awareness back. He did do some real nice things under pressure too.
Its a tough one. But a good problem to have

Bring in Anthony as well!accountabilityPlease wrote:IMHO Henderson, Brown, Bradshaw puts the balance of key defenders vs forwards well and truly in their favour, especially if one of their rucks drops back and / or Brennan goes to town on us again.
Once again Harry will have to play above his height along with Maxy not able to be the utility he has been but a key defender. How we use Goldie will be interesting too.

Wood Tonight
Do you Reckon he can beat Leuy and Charman?
I reckon he could at least break even with them and He could be very good up foward giving us a Massive Full Foward to Kick Too

I want Wood to take the first bounce (although will this damage Frasers confidence?)...he seemed to have no problem with Sandilands size, Charman is of similar built but MUCH shorter.
It Wood starts to win a few hitouts on Charman, Charman will no doubt try and physically rough him up...in which case i wouldnt mind seeing Cloke or Rocca for a couple of bounces just contesting for the purpose of smashing Charman, then letting Josh take over and returning Wood when Leuy starts.
Dont expect Wood to beat either, Charman is more experienced, and Leuy is probably more talented. Looking for a good show.
