For a veteran player at such a crucial time to miss from 30 metres was criminal.
I disagree with your first sentence.

Licuria's always been a bad kick. I actually said to the guy sitting next to me at the club, as Licuria was lining up, bet he won't even score. So I may have jinxed him :(

No, the worst moment of the game was Licuria. He broke a few tackles in the forward line, and for a moment decided on a moment of glory. He could have handballed to teammates in the goalsquare, but he decided to have a shot. Predictably, he was under a fair bit of pressure and sprayed it embarrassingly.

Pretty much summed up our night.

I have lived 40 years of my life watching Collingwood teams, year after year, flatter to decieve and let all their supporters down.

It is so predictable, it is laughable. Except the Joke is on us who hand out our redies for this.

From Eddie down, there needs to be a revolution at the club.

We are just a media wH@re club, for the media to kiss when they want and belt around when they want.

It doesn't look like changing anytime in the next 40 years.

And us Collingwood fans lap it up without thinking. Sad. Very Sad.
Do something about it.

I am starting a revolution, I am buying a BMW instead of a Lexus and booking with United instead of Emirates for my next first class round the world trip. So there!

They say that playing bottom sides presents a "mental" challenge.

That 90% of the game is "mental".

Well, they're dead right.

I went completely "mental" at the 2 minute mark of the First Quarter!

Our midfield is shot, we desperately need an injection of pace and fresh bodies.

On thing that really 'bugged' me last night was how both the commentators....contiinually reminded the viewers on how the PIES liost the game last year against 'BUMMERS' and consequently fell in a heap.
Will that happen again this year?????????
I guess time will tell,BUt I feel that the boys went out there again last night thinking that it would be an easy as per bloose last week and got a rude shock when Bitchmond outplayed them from the first ball up.....

As bad as last night was, the Brisbane game was worse IMO... and will most likely be looked back on as the night our season crumbled, if results keep going this way.

Obvioulsy a dissapointing performance but I'm not surprised to see people here talking sackings and revolutions.

Not because its a smart thing to do, but because this site has become a place for panic and fools typing the first thing that comes to mind after a loss.

Yes, get mad, every pie supporter has a right to be. But stop doubting the players and people that had everyone here talking premierships and top 2 only a month ago.

This is a rebuilding side. Success does things to people. It changes perspective, changes expectations. Ofcourse anything is possible but we cant let the success of a young side turn us into idiots who expect too much.

A few thoughts

-Collingwood need another top line ruckman. Fraser gets run into the ground every year and is stuffed come August. Bryan and Richards need another proffesion.

-The Midfield is struggling. Swan and Ben Johnson have been off the boil for a month and we can't afford any player to drop off, especially in the midfield.

-Top 4 is gone even if we win the remaining games but this season is different in the fact that the top 4 will hold atleast 2 victorian teams this year. Collingwood could still not have to leave Victoria if things fall our way.

-Alan Toovey is the most frustrating player to watch play football since Jason Wild. He's not even entertaining in a Presti kind of way.

-Mick Malthouse is still a great coach but I fear Adrian Fletcher's days at the club are numbered. We have consistently been beaten in clearances all year and we have one solid clearance player on our list and he is over 30 years old.

The great one returns next week and with him some confidence within the group.

The players should sit down and watch how Hawthorn played today. Hard at the ball and moving it on at any cost.

I couldn't believe how hard Hawthorn were today against the Cheats.

That's how to play good football.

Hawthorn were awesome !!! Hodge, Bateman etc. See the effect a good solid fast midfield can have when they are left alone and not getting frequent flyer points for the amount of times they run through the interchange !?

Finals time............. Canberra, shoulder surgery (ouch & good luck), I'll be watching the Cats and whoever on Grand Final day from the Central Hotel in Port Douglas.
