"we drop this one and we find ourselves in an awkward and shakey position".

Couldn't agree more, ad4eva.

On a positive note, the Cats drubbing of the Dogs last night puts our potential in some kind of perspective, methinks, and Sheedy has agreed with that sentiment during the week.
This will be a fascinating battle of the coaches today.

We need this one SO bad.

Ladder predictors are one thing, but I would be much happier with our boys "seizeing the moment" TODAY!!!

Go you brilliant maggies

Agree with what people are saying but rocca either needs to play deep, or wide enough so the if we miss the contest they cannot rebound through the corridor and make space on a wing, scarlett was getting it inside 50, running to the wing and going inside attacking 50. We have never once let a team rebound off us like that. Geelong are the real deal for the moment, but their game plan is obvious, run wide if you dont have the ball, if you have the ball look for the running player and handball, it gives them 3-5second advantage and that was enough to move the ball 100meters then go inside 50, because they played on, the players behind the ball and running past had already found the loose option on the wing, i think they where all running left also. They dont use half back and rarely kicked to half forward options, it was always long, pretty much our game plan on speed. If Rocca had kicked early goals and played deeper so the delivery would go deep then we would have cut that run in half.

if we loose this game its top4 spot gone, so its another big one. Im tipping the might by 12 goals, rocca to kick 6, trav 4, dids, 3, neon 3, lonie 2, thommo 2, johnno and josh 1.

I wouldnt mind seeing Maxwell playing a defensive forward role again today. With PResti back, our backline has enough strength. Wakes should be able to play a floating role, whilst Presti and Harry do the one one one jobs. That way, Maxwell can pick up Fletcher if he tries to play loose and can chase down anyone who decides to run off ROcca
There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.

Big stage set for Lones today. I reckon he will give our forwards a much better chance of kicking a big bag today. Getting the ball in , long and fast as opposed to our recent chip style pie floaters served up to them in recent weeks. All in all though, fairly confident if the desire is there for a resounding 6 goal and kicking away win.

When you consider the extent that scarlet smashed us last week it is amasing we didn't loose by a lot more and shows that the rest of team (apart from Rocca) must have played well.

As Jimbeam, DaVe86, and others say, we just cannot let a backman smash us like that again and must have back-up plan, such as, defensive forward, Rocca positioning/benching, if Rocca has another one of his shockers. However, with Rocca on song combining with Travis, that is a mouthwatering contemplation!

Sounds good.
If Anthony isn't taking his marks but at least making a contest I would like to see some of the smalls stay down and play the crumbing role instead of everyone going for the big specky.

the one question i kept asking myself last week was "where are the crumbers?" time and again there was no one down waiting ... i thought medhurst and davis were disappointing in that aspect. the geelong defence were able to clear time and again.
Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle.
