I'm so much more comfortable now with O'Brien back in and Goldsack coming on just nicely. No longer such a heavy reliance on Clemo and Presti who for years have been the lynchpin of our defence. I've no doubt we would've beat Dees and Dawks had Harry played.

This will be a great barometer for our season.

Beat Geelong and we'll be viewed as genuine premiership contenders. Lose to Geelong and we'll be judged as no more advanced than last season -- a comfortable berth in the finals but not good enough to be around come Prelim Final weekend.

To beat Geelong we've got to improve on two things:

(i) Win the centre clearances. Our slow starts this year have been caused by our inability to win the ball out of the middle early in the game.

(ii) Kick straight. It's no secret that Travis and Anthony have been wayward in front of goals this year.

We're not far away from winning this game. The TAB has us $2.40 outsiders at the moment. I'll be taking that price.

This is a massive game for us. Win this and we are flying. Our premiership odds will rise and we will bring Geelong back down to earth after 9 impressive wins.

Geelong runs the ball very, very well. Similar to the way Hawthorn moved it and they use the ball through the middle every chance they get it. They run and handball they look for a spot up. If we can get numbers behind the ball and choke them of that freedom to run they will find it difficult and in turn they will cough the ball up. They are a bit fragile up forward if we can not give them quality use.

We need to be able to hurt them on the turn overs. Any one will tell you that to beat the top side you have to convert on every opportunity and hurt them on the turnovers. Clearances will be hard to come by and we need everyone we can get, giving Cloke and Rocca first use in the air.
We need to run and move the ball quickly, play on at every opportunity to give Rocca the best possible chance in the air. If we wait to long they will get numbers back and kill us on the rebound.

If we can get numbers behind the ball then move it quickly to give Rocca every chance we are a big show.

Go Pies!

Well I'm off peoples.

Catch yas all tonight after hopefully a crushing win. Remember, they're due for a loss & Essendon would've beaten them last week had they not lost their key players due to injuries.

Here's hoping the Pies get up for us this arvo! And more importantly unscathed.
WE WERE ROBBED, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MEEE!

Tend to agree, though he wasn't the sole reason for the loss. But if thats what the top team at full strength has to offer, Im not too worried come finals time...
