Sitting on the front porch in Toc.

Lawns didn't need mowing so apart from some weeding, having a chillaxed day.

I picked up a little suitcase record player from Aldi last year, connected it up to the old Yamaha Amp and surround sound system I got from cash converters and playing some vinyl records on it. :D

Not sure if it sounds better than a CD, but there's something nostalgic about putting the record on, lifting the needle and watcing the turntable spin, then setting it down.

I've picked up a few old ones from opp shops for mum and some old classics for me from JB .
Bat out of Hell
Goodbye Yellow brick Road
Back in Black
Heart of Glass
Slippery when wet.

Life is good, if it was hotter it'd be perfect

^^ Vinyl's better in every way except for cost, and if you need to move house.

Yesterday arvo, Daughter calls me. I answer and it's the grandson on the phone. "Grandad, will you come to the zoo with us tomorrow?"

What can I say? OK mate.

Up early this morning, 6km walk with some jogging, then weights, then out for brunch and a Dan Murphys run before home. Daughter rocks up at 12. Break down the old girls mobility scooter and manage to fit it in the back of the daughters SUV. Off to the Zoo. Traffic was ridiculous but we got there and spent the next few hours walking around with a hyperactive munchkin. If the kid doesn't have ADHD I'll go he, and he could talk under 4 metres of wet cement while gagged.

Joint was crowded, so many people there to see exhibits that were either empty or full of sleeping animals, but still very enjoyable day. Spending time with him and the daughter after 18 months of hardly seeing them was just great.

Home, unloaded the scooter then escaped out the front to inhale a beer and a smoke and reset. Then, to give the daughter 15 minutes of clear air, took the grandson into the park with his aunties old skateboard (I don't throw things out), taught him how to balance and steer it and after a bit of practice, got the Daughter and old girl out to watch him navigate down an inclined bit of footpath for 40 metres, steering it by shifting his weight to stay on the path.

I'm nucking fackered. Step count over 20k for the day. Take away for dinner tonight, then a full weekends of outside work to do tomorrow.

Daughter number 1 (23 and no longer at home) came over to take daughter number 2 (12 and just finishing grade 6) shopping for graduation dress. Lockdowns have severely limited catch ups over last two years -just watching them together and how they're growing up (too bloody quickly) is magic. Simple pleasures.

Spent the weekend in Toc. So good, weather was brilliant.

Had a call on the way home, son and daughter were using my place as a half way meet for him to take the grandson to lunch with his missus and her kids so she could get Santa photos of the lot. More play acting happy families from her

Anyway, did grocery shopping on way home, managed to just get inside when daughter and partner arrived. Unloaded the car and got to spend some time with them and the son and grandson when they arrived.

Perfect weekend, time for a drink. Cheers.

I agree, 3 times worth. Daughter has custody for the next 12 months, court appointed and unopposed. Kid is doing well.
