Any love for Logan McDonald from Sydney, kids got something. Mad Collingwood supporter, but reads the play pretty well for a kid his age.

There is a lot of love for Logan McDonald who is exactly the player Collingwood need to lift the team from a finals contender to a Premiership contender. Unfortunately, he resigned with Sydney a few weeks ago till the end of the 2025 season.

Forget McStay he is not the answer right any questions we have
Our need is a #1 KF option he is not even the 3rd banana in a group
If we identify that’s our priority #1 (which be more dependant on whether we lose JDG or not) the we would be better off chatting to west coast who are likely to blow up there group somewhat as seasons end and see where Darling fits in to there plans
He is a true KPF and a good mark and better than average kick and his pay packet wouldn’t be much more than what is being reported that Mc Stay wants
The bottom line is what happens with JDF
That money needs to be either spent retaining him or finding someone to replace him simple

We had the chance to snare Peter Wright for a fourth round draft pick but Walsh and Ned Guy blew up our salary cap.

Will become official on Friday the 30th. But has officially told the Lions he's accepting Collingwoods offer.

Let's pivot on McStay and chase Graham or Dunkley instead with that money plus whatever else we get for Grundy. Graham wants opportunity and Dunkley wants culture. Surely each of them fits our centre square needs at that age better than we need McStay

Why is the media so sure the contract for McStay is a 5 year 3 million offer?
Aren't the contract terms confidential because it's a free agency trade?
Has someone at Brisbane tipped them off?
He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD!

question to ask ourselves - if McStay was playing last Saturday, would it have improved the side by at least 2 points?
i think the answer would be a resounding yes

Someone give me some qualifying reasons how he makes us better. Who does he replace from our prelim team?

Grundy is gone 100%. He can ruck when the ball goes forward. Mihocek and Cox getting past their prime. He’s a Swingman if a tall back gets injured. The price is what most people are questioning. It’s a good pick up.

It doesn't matter whether any of us can offer qualifying reasons, but clearly our coaches/recruiting team believe he will make us better. Whether they answer you or not...

Fairly confident he would have had more than 2 disposals.

nobody knows the length of the contract or the amount

I just read its $500,000 per year.

In case anyone doesn't know how the media works, lets go to one of their meetings and be a fly on the wall :

'ok we make this up: Grundy goes elsewhere, and Collingwood carries a good chunk of his salary. Then, how about McStay coming for $600,000 and making it all boil down to a stupid no win trade; we can run on this for weeks. !!!!!

Articles :
John, Monday ' Grundy leaving is a no gain for Collingwood
Derreck, Tuesday 'Hasn't Collingwood learned yet how to treat its players ?
Tracy, Wednesday 'Players not happy with Grundy's treatment
John, Thursday 'McStay won't solve Collingwood's KP forward problems.

But the Hawthorn issue took over, and Collingwood was let off the hook. !

It's true. Getting upset generates more clicks. Make up a story and make it a theme to get people agitated till it wears thin.

Occasionally it's true, that only adds to the readers' confusion lol

McStay is a fantastic pickup. He is not Jonathon Brown.
He has played basically every single game for the last 9 years at Brisbane. He has kept his spot for 9 years folks. This is not a dud.

Roughy was a great choice, and this is another.
