Does anyone know when the outcome of Hird's appeal is going to be known?

No, wpt. It'll take as long as it takes. Unless the judges consider the answer to be unusually clear, either way, I wouldn't expect a decision until next year. I would have thought 3 months, plus 6 weeks for the holiday period, was about right. That'd mean late March, early April. I suppose it depends how important the judges think the case is, compared to all the others in which litigants are waiting on their judgments.

Hope they're not being paid an hourly rate

The judges aren't. Hanksy would have been, though, I expect.

So when is it expected the full bench of the federal court will hand down its decision on the Hird appeal?

It is being reported that the decision will be handed down at 2.15pm this Friday, 30 January.

That's a month or two before I expected the Court might deliver it.

I'd hate it to be quoted as "gospel" but the word floating around is that Hird will win his case, obviously on strictly legal grounds. IF this happens, it would be chaos and will put ASADA in further turmoil.

Any such "word" is just rubbish. The judges will have kept their respective reasons for decision close to their chests. Courts simply do not leak like that. That doesn't mean that the "word floating around" won't prove to be correct. All other things being equal, it is about as likely to be right as it is to be wrong - but not because anyone has any "inside" knowledge".

Yeah, you are right. Fair point well made. Time will tell but I did hear this earlier this morning from an Essendon fan at work who is not a supporter of Hird. Just thought I'd share it here
