I think a bit of both, mate! I was there and by half time was wondering if WCE had a cheersquad at all! Then they kicked a goal and I thought, oh, there they are! So the goals down there end were pretty few and far between. As for Shawry, I think when he gets tagged like that Mick should stick him in the middle. That was about the only win the WCE had out of the whole game, keeping Heath Shaw quiet!kambarker wrote:Tagged or the ball didnt get downto their forward pocket much??CQ wrote:I might be wrong but I think Heater got tagged today.jack_spain wrote: Another surprising positive: Heater had a quiet game, and Lockyer is struggling a bit at the moment, but that's fine if the other 18-20 boys lift.

Rubbish. He definitely looks the goods. Kennedy will be a player

To me, a difference in the inside 50's, particularly in the second half, was that we seemed to see them as opportunities to succeed, where the eagles treated them as a chance to fail. It was amazing to see how far a team has slipped so quickly. Shows how fragile form can be.
The lesson from the last two weeks is that we must remain focussed on playing that relentless style of football against all opponents. It will be hard to maintain, but it gets results.
Great game, great result, made the 500k round trip well worthwhile.

Yea I thought the same thing lol. all we need now is Judd to break down.
( I know i shouldn't think that of a champion but but it would be sweet justice for those carlscum cheats)
Never disperse your focus unless absolutely necessary. Face one adversary at a time!

Great win - and even better 2 weeks in a row.
Only things I saw in the coverage -
1. S.Cox got shafted by the umpires on several plays,
2. Wellingham is a real good 'spark player' and will be a star,
3. Bryan does the job pretty well and is a good option as Wood get some extra weight,
4. N.Brown is getting better every week,
5. Cloke is the hardest working CHF in the league,
6. As stated on the coverage - Pies have the best 4 small forwards in the AFL,
7. That was the most shepherds I have seen laid by the Pies for many years - and that shows that things are really coming together very well.
On a side note the Tarrant trade will be the best trade the Pies have done for about 20 years.

I think its time to give Cox a decent run so who do we drop for Rocca? [quote]
I thought Cox was a little disappointing yesterday, but in fairness he was played at Full forward a fair portion of the day, and it's a difficult position to play well. I'd like to see him continue to get a chance to prove himself, but I suspect it'll be in the backline, and he'll have to get over Goldsack, Presti (maybe) and Anthony. I think he's going to have to be patient.

I thought that cox was pretty decent given that he was played 'out of position' and had Glass as an opponent (i think).
I think it was similar to when Jack Anthony debuted in that you couldn't really expect the player to show a great ability to play the position given to him, it was just more about whether they showed abit of class, hard tackling etc. when the ball came near them. I thought Cox looked pretty good when he had the ball, there was a nice smooth one handed pick up at one stage, and one or two other moments that i thought demonstrated good spatial awareness, so i was pretty happy.
