Great game but the bummers were (are) really bad.

Wellingham and Cook definitely showed something, which is most pleasing.

Our kicking for goal was ordinary, again - Swan was truly horrible and Pendles wasn't much better. I think it is just a temporary glitch with Pendles, Swan on the other hand....

Bring on the Hawks!

Essendon are a second rate side coached by an ammature... he was all over the place with his set up, was Knights.... that really did stand out.

Good effort by the boys, Essendon are a joke of a side and got what they deserved....

Geez, the Ponsord was pumping.... i mustnt be the only one who cant stand Essendon...

Well done to Cook & Sharod.. i thought they were both really good for kids....

Certain players disposal is still letting them down..... handball's missing targets etc..... but against garbage like Essendon it was never going to hurt us.

Next 3 weeks will tell us plenty.... but good win nonetheless and good to kick a decent score.

Fantastic win by the Pies, I love to see us smash Essendon. I was so happy I had to text my mate in Ireland & let him know how crap his team was. :)
Swan is down, Swan kicks the goal! And everything here will be a Magpie celebration!

3RRR

The Pies are back at Vic Park!

How could you only give Didak a 6 Kingswood? He was brilliant. 25 touches, 22 of which were kicks and only two clangers, a GREAT goal, 6 clearances... I'd give him an 8. He has two more gears, and he will be hitting them soon... will poll some 10s before the year is out. Shit he's good.

Funny how the Bumbers humble Carlton, Carlton humble us and then we go and smash the Bumbers, all in less than a month.

Footy is a funny game.

Over anal-ise it at your peril.

The moral to the story is to be humble in defeat and enjoy the moment.

I think Marty might be going through the dreaded second year blues a little bit. Still it is kind of early to tell. He might need a couple more games up his sleeve to get back into it. Rhyce on the other hand... I just get so sick of people bagging him cos I know how it feels to come in second after a superior sibling. His disposal does let him down at times but he's one of our best taggers, always manages to keep Judd quiet, and I can't speak highly enough of his effort to make a name for himself in the years following the '03 Grannie, which he took a very long time to live down. Heath might be my favourite player but I do have a soft spot for Rhyce. I'll defend him any day of the week.

A great day to visit Melbourne

Those of us who ventured down the Hume Highway got to witness a demolition at the MCG.
A great result, especially for Medders and Pendles. If Burns and Rocca had played we would have won by even more.
We'll be coming back for ANZAC Day next year for sure.
I still reckon Rocca got that goal

We didn't get our 40 acres and a mule
But you're my piece of the rock
And I love you CC

Good point mel_kay39. I got a bit worried about Marty in the pre-season when I read an article in one of the dailies saying that after he returned home to Ireland he wasn't looking too far ahead and didn't know how long he'd be at Collingwood.

Not the kind of thing I would have expected to hear.
My interpretation was that his commitment was wavering.

My old uncle and his mates say that he has also been a bit satisfied and has "played up a bit." Haven't read anything in the media about this playing up, but when I get messages from these old timers I generally take them as accurate.

Having said that, his game was much better on Anzac day. Just appeared to be more aware of his space which has been really lacking.

The Dons were so woeful that it's hard to know how much improvement we have made, but if tackling and pressure is any guide, then we improved heaps.

The next few weeks will show us where we stand and the Hawks game could be a season turn around.

BTW, if Rhyce Shaw's stats show he had an 80% effectiveness, then the statisticians were in the bar. Rhyce's first quarter for starters was pretty hopeless and Heath's wasn't much better. He made two inexplicable fumbles in the first quarter that against decent opposition would have cost 2 goals. Both improved as the game progressed.

Clangers out of the backline are hurting us at the moment and this is where we really miss Clement.
After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!
Collingwood rules the world again and Mick Malthouse fulfils his destiny with the twenty ten premiership and can you hear the people sing!

It was a good game for playing ourselves back into form but lets not get too excited about it. I'll reserve my judgment until after this week's game against the Dawks.

yes. Good win and hopefully, run us into form. Bombers are crap. How we lost to the Blues and they beat the Blues is beyond logic.

We missed Rocca dispite what many would say. However against an overly tall side (unballanced), it was not exposed.

Against a shortish defense in the Hawks, Rocca is a massive inclusion, unfortunately his first game back tends to be quite.

Often we had no long option in those slow forward thrusts. Would not want to be reling on medders week in and week out to kick multiples. Rocca takes some of this pressure off.

The good thing about medders kicking bags, is that he will dragg attention off Rocca, Didak, Cloke, Thomas, Leon etc. More efforts will go on Medders now openning up other oportunities.

3. WATSON
2. Pendles
