Can't say I'm overly thrilled to see Holland back myself; I was never a great fan and his disciplinary record is shocking. But he is only 27 so if he is genuinely over his achilles problems he may still have a role to play. I wish him luck.
I supported Toovey when he was selected two weeks ago (and will support him if he's selected again) but he didn't make much impact. Stanley was a real disappointment last week. He may really struggle for another opportunity at senior level after that performance.
Certainly happy to see Reid get his chance. I must admit I wonder where he fits in, because he plays a very similar style of game to Cloke, i.e. a roaming half-forward. This is where Rusling added a different dimension to the forward line, in that he was a lead-mark-kick player in the Matthew Lloyd mould. So watching Reid and Cloke working in tandem will be curious. Presumably they'll lead to the flanks while Rocca stays in the square.
This will be a hard game. The Roos were magnificent last year and are still under-rated. I'd play Brown back on Thompson, Rhyce Shaw on Harvey and probably Heath Shaw on Grant. Probably no surprises there. Heath Shaw may yet fulfil Greg Baum's Brownlow predictions the way he has started the season.

I used to be a fan of Dutchy, but I watched the reserves game last week and was not impressed by his game at all. He looked very slow. I guess, with Burns' absence, MM wants a hard in and under player in our midfield. I hope he goes well, but I would have much preferred to see Wellingham promoted - he was our best VFL player last week. I'm also not yet convinced about Reid's worth. His kicking has been shocking in every game I've seen, but let's hope he does well on saturday.

I'm not sure about Holland. I'm sure he is going to get a fair bit of the ball, but I don't think we need another plodder in the side. It's a step backwards. HOWEVER, if he is on the list, he should be used if his form warrants it. I didn't see the VFL match last week, therefore I won't comment. His experience will definately be useful because he was clearly lacking last week.
He may be given a tagging role, but to be honest I can't see anyone who requires tagging that he could keep up with. Harvey needs someone like Rhyce Shaw.
Stoked that Goldsack and Reid and back (Reid "back" despite not playing, because I think he should be a permanent fixture in our forward line). Goldsack is going to be a star for the mighty Pies for years to come. He is as hard at it as anybody, and he just oozes class. I can't wait to see him play up on a wing - which will come along when JA cements his spot IMO. He just looks like a midfielder. He's silky smooth like Pendlebury, but he also has a bit of explosiveness which Pendles lacks.
And I've said this 1000 times, but I have to say it again in some kind of hope that Mick will read this and say, "well if Ktszyu1 thinks I should... then I'll damn well do it!!" And that is: Put...Dale...Thomas...on...the...ball.
He has youthful experience (no, not an oxymoron). He has explosive pace. He backs himself. He can go in for the hard ball. He never stops trying and chasing defensively. He never stops running and presenting offensively. He has better disposal that half of our midfield. He doesn't fumble the ball. He doesn't need many touches to have an impact....so give him 25 touches, and he will CARVE UP THE OPPOSITION! I get so frustrated with this. He should play as a midfielder who starts in the centre more often than not, and then drifts forward.
Go you mighty Pies, I know we'll bounce back. Do it for your fans who've copped hell all week. Do it for your OWN pride. Do it for Paul Licuria, and take a leaf out of his book... because he had a massive surplus of what we lacked last week ---- HEART! Do it for the black and white jumper, which means so, so much. GET OUT THERE AND SMASH THEM, BECAUSE WE ARE THE BEST GODDAMN CLUB IN THE COUNTRY, AND WE ARE THE BEST GODDAMN TEAM IN THE AFL! WE ARE GOING TO SHOW THE LEAGUE IN THE COMING WEEKS THAT WE MEAN BUSINESS... KANGAROOS, ESSENDON, HAWTHORN, ST.KILDA, GEELONG... THEY ARE NOTHING! WE ARE THE COLLINGWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB!
FIRE THE **** UP!
