Forget about Judd - WCE will want a small crumbing forward, and I suspect they will ask for no lesser than Davis or Didak in return - and the Pies would be lunatics to agree to a swap like that.
I thought Leon was great last night, as was Swan, Lockyer, Cloke and Didak in the third. But our best on ground for his desperation and tackling would have to be Maxwell.
I still wonder why Rocca didn't get a spell in the ruck when he was getting cut up by Scarlett (as usual). I would have liked to have seen Ottens push Pebbles around! Sometimes what Mick doesn't do confounds me.
Still we have some great young talent and plenty of promise for the future. Bring on '08!
I think people don't realise that rocca is no longer capable of being a ruckman, even for short spells. Since his archilles problem, his general mobility has been severely limited.

Hey people, let's not forget about our achievements this year considering the so called 'professionals' had us near the bottom of the ladder.

I feel a factor in the two teams last night was body size and experience.

Sure, we have our seasoned solidly built players in the likes of Buckley and Burns etc. But we also have a fair few first and second year players that need more game time (experience) and time for their still young bodies to mature and increase in the gym.

The likes of Daisy, Goldsack and Penders, another pre-season and time with Richardson and Scott will only get much, much better.

Dids, Neon and Medders are still adjusting to roles in the midfield and I'm sure next season we will see the improvement. For several years now these 3 inparticular have been slotted in the forward line to crumb the ball, spin around and kick goals. Their engines are increasing as is their awareness and fitness levels required for the middle.

I will admit there are certain players I don't particularly like but after the efforts of the last three weeks, I will not bag anyone of them. I will admit we do need to concentrate on a ruck option but aside from that.......

Go you mighty Black and White, I'm blody proud of you !!!

p.s. Thank you to Richardson and Scott on the work you have done with our boy's, the improvement this year has been sensational.

the sun still comes up the birds still sing, the dog is barking, the kids still say I love you dad, work has to be done, the earth has not stopped we lost by a kick time waits for no one.

we lost by a kick we fell short it hurts but you can not bring it back to many what ifs what do you do move on. They gave it there all I don'nt think you can ask for any more than that.
The players will be thinking what if i did that till pre season starts man what do you do.

You're right stoka35 we will all move on.
This morning I feel worse than last night; after denying we were good enough all year in here, I was proved absolutely wrong; we were good enough.
But we lost after giving everything.
Let's move on.

Move right along to the premier issue: ruckman.

We will never go the next step without moving heaven and earth to get one.
After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!
Collingwood rules the world again and Mick Malthouse fulfils his destiny with the twenty ten premiership and can you hear the people sing!

Wasn't feeling too shattered last night - bitterly disappointed but was trying to look at a lot of the positives that have already been mentioned.

BUT.....this morning I feel like crap! To get so damn close and lose it cuts because now I'm thinking about all the 'what if's'! It doesn't help that I feel like we would have beaten either team next week. BUGGER!

Getting sadder by the minute thinking about what retirement announcements might come up over the next couple of weeks. It's exciting to see the new kids coming through but it's feeling a bit like the end of an era at the same time.

GO PIES!

Waking up the morning after, the stark realisation of defeat hits just as hard, maybe even deeper. My heart is heavy right now. I just want season 2008 to begin right here and now.

@#$%! was all I could say last night.

So close. So close.

Travis Cloke, please take a bow, you nearly won it off your own boot in the last qtr. Maxwell, you just never stop trying (the team is buiilt on this kind of spirit).

We were 5 points from beating a team that won the majority of their games this season, 5 points from beating a team with 9 All Australians, 5 points from what most people thought would have been the most improbable win in finals history.

98,002 people saw the start of an era last night and we have the prime seats for the ride.

BTW, well done on the Collingwood crowd last night. It was electric. People were going ballistic.

Dave, he didn't really play all that great. The game was up for the grabs.
