In an article a few weeks back the Sat Age had Buckley and Celement rated second behind Gehrig for bench pressing, so the belief that Clement would not be strong enough may not be that true. No-One in league is a strong as Gehrig, but at least Jimmy has the both pace and strength...maybe it is worth giving him the job. Wake's def does not have the speed to stay with Gehrig.

The key as always is to limit the supply....

Wakelin for the one on one contests, have cloke fill the hole in front of him. For every man that stkilda brings in to man up on cloke, ensure that he is in turn manned up.

Cloke must be free to help wakelin.

Line Up

Post by Cannibal »

OK, I'll have my two bob's worth, too!

My team line up would be:

B: Clement Wakelin J.Cloke
HB: Cole Walker Swan
C: Lonie Johnson O'Bree
HF: Didak Tarrant C.Cloke
F: Davis Rocca Woewodin
R: Richards Lokan McGough
Int: Kinnear Licura King Nixon

In: C.Cloke, Nixon
Out: Buckley (Hamstring), Holland (Suspended)

Lokan takes on Burnsie's role - hard at the ball - so, with Lokan, McGough and Johnno at the bounce, we get the ball out to the quicks on the wings or straight down to the forward line. Woey and Davis can take a mark as well, Davis and Dids are quick and Tarrant roams to his heart's content. Clement and Wakes can run straight out of the backline, as can Cole and Swan, Walker and Cloke make sure they stick close to their men and spoil if they can't mark the pill themselves. There's balance on the bench - big & small, backs, middle & forwards - for MM to throw wherever there's a need.

We'll see what happens shortly. Fox Footy for me, tonight!

For defensive matchups maybe Clement on Riewoldt, Wakelin on Gehrig and Cloke or Walker on Hamil. We should definately try to have a loose man in defense to clog up their forwardline.

Depends on how well we shut down their forward line. Gehrig, Hamill, Riewoldt and Milne are touch matchups espacially without Presti to cover the third tall. I think we can match it with them in the midfield despite the injuries. I also think that our forwards will provide quite a few headaches for their defence. Difficult assignment but a win is not impossible. Also must take into account the fact they are travelling back from Perth.

Big challenge for the coaching staff and players, great chance to show what they are made of, nothing to lose, everything to gain, what an opportunity.

I'd like to see Mullins back in the side and C. Cloke is a must given their line-up.

Thats a piss weak excuse! Brisbane proved that it wasn't a factor last year!. Oh and Carlton also won the week after coming back from perth.

Surely if Cam's no longer injured then he should make the starting 22? and what's going on with Fraser? Has his virus been upgraded to hamstring or what?
