Yep. Kid has some talent. Didn't show much at Carlton, but will have a future at the weagles.

No he hasn't! Carlton are still laughing. Haven't seen anything at all to suggest he will be a star. Servicable at best.

The whole side played well, but I was especially impressed with Bryan again. We got thrashed in the hit outs, but the Bear kept throwing his body into contests and took some important marks around the ground. I reckon he's made an important contribution to the turn around in our form.

Watched the Bear in the reserves at Frankston and was really impressed, he rucked, roved, dropped back to fill in the hole and went forward to kick a couple of goals.

Until Woody matures a bit and put's on some beef, Bear will be very handy and fighting to keep a spot.

Hey, shouldn't the Eagles get a $50,000 fine or something for having extra players on the field ???? Didn't they have an extra 3 in red ???

The ump's did us no favours today but we still managed an enourmous win................. god that feels great !!!

A great win. The boys certainly have hit a rich vein of form at the moment.

And I'm sure Mick will be keeping all this in its proper perspective. The lid needs to stay firmly on.

I didn't say he'd be a star, but he does have some talent and considering the weagles best forward is Hymie, the big Q, he has the chance to be a serviceable player for them for a while.

Amazing how somebody makes a comment ala "whos rocca" and a few turn on the poster like he is an evil demon ..... How about just pointing out Rocca's positives. Dale i am sure is an avid pie fan why attack him. The aggression towards other collingwood supporters on this board is a real negative.

Provided Rocca is fit he is an important player for collingwood as I believe we are potentially more dangerous with two key forwards (as Dale points out). However, Rocca has continuously been playing while injured and finally the Coaching staff have decided to rest him. Rocca in the past has played hurt and because of that became a liablity against the good sides. Only the elite can play successfully injured such as Voss, Hird and Millane. While Rocca is good he is not elite.

What makes me really happy and is a huge positive is that we can win by a 100 points without Rocca. Rocca provides us with considerable potential upside - combined with Cloke that gives us two key forwards.

Cloke needs to be given a rest during the game. While he has had two very good games in a row I can't recall him being rested. He has tired a bit at certain stages in both games. He was still good enough to provide a contest and bring the ball to ground it appeared to me his marking tapered off.

I still think we have a little way to go to show that we are up their with Hawthorn, Cats and Dogs - that might seem a foolish comment after our last two weeks. However, thats what it is so far this season just two weeks. We were woe-ful in our opening NAB cup game against Adelaide and have not been any better than average until the geelong game apart from a half of a game against tigers.

I live in Queensland and was visiting Melbourne last week and went to see the cats game not really expecting to win - but what a glorius night it turned out to be. My brother believes that the after the high altidude training, illnes in Africa, Dubai trip that we have just recovered and are now finally seeing collingwoods true standard. I expect that we are well on our way, however, if we are genuine number 1, 2, 3 or 4 we will find out in the next fews weeks.

We need to put away dees and blues and then set about beating the sides we are going to compete with in September.

Only saw the game in patches, How did S.Cox go? from all the CTV videos and board topics here seems as he has been gagging to get a start. Did he make the most of it?

Enjoyed reading your post Nomad. Playing injured, well no one in history will ever match "Pants". Will soon be folklore.

Yes Magarey what a champion he was. Remember in 1990 when he played with a broken thumb for half the season. What an absolute champ and what a tragedy.

Sharrod_theiceman the question of how Cox went is a good one. I would like to hear what people thought who went to the match and saw him live. From a TV perspective I thought he was average. I think he will make a good average player at best. Hoped to be proven wrong but based on what I have seen, I don't see the same upside as what Wellingham, O'Brien, Clarke, Goldsack and Anthony showed when given their chance in the big time.

Plaits, is that how it's spelt. Shows how old fashioned I am. Maybe if I could've worked out how to insert a sarcastic smiley in my original post, might've got my feelings across better?
