Cloke a 1 out of 10 Snoop? I reckon you're a great judge, mate but boy that's tough. Know he didn't have a good night, but he was well beaten by Blake who I thought stuck to him like glue and Clokey simply couldn't break the shackles. Cloke had 10 possessions and took 4 marks and I thought tried hard. Not a good game, but a rating more worthy of 3 or 4 out of 10.

Im sure it was 20-12 at one stagepiedys wrote:Oh Andrew please!! The Saints would be howling about the two frees in front that we got late in the third, when they were coming at us, so whatever other mistakes the maggots made, they might just have helped us get out of jail.
EVERY SINGLE ONE of our frees was HARD WON and paid with a LATE whistle, while the pricks couldn't find frees fast enough for St.Blunda.
My head is sore from shaking it at the television.

and that's the problem, they try to even it up by the end of the game, which isn't impartially judging each contest on it's merits, just as the so called "coach" of the umpires coming out and saying some players are looked after because they are "pure ball players" which implies they have a list of those who are "play the man players" in any case they go into games with preconceived ideas about players and "punish" blokes that play the game hard at it.Pies4Premiers wrote:Im sure it was 20-12 at one stagepiedys wrote:Oh Andrew please!! the game has gone past umpires and the only thing the afl seem willing to do about it is gag all and sundry, it is a blight on the game, across all games every weekend.
I have gone from watching 5-6 games a week to barely being able to sit our game each week, my wife and daughter no longer can do even that, they've had a gutfull and vote with their feet.

He's lost what little he had.....MagpieMad wrote:I'd have to disagree with this one, he was a passenger, lacked run, late in the game gave a token chase on harvey, just didn't look like he was trying, he has forgotten how to tackle and I think he sees himself as some sort of enforcer but misses them far to often and the run free off him, I was a big fan of his but I'm dropping off him as he doesn't look like he's having a fair dinkum crack at the ball, I'd send him back and give some one else a shot.Snoop Dog wrote:I am knackered! Look we got the points but we played poorly. Many will blame the leakage at the backs but the real issue is the middle where we got smashed in the clearances. Our senior mids were terrible in their pressure and our fwds werent a whole lot better. We need a heap of pressure in these areas to help our young backs.
My player review (and whilst I rarely call players out I will here);
B.Johnson - 6
Good late but appalling early. Bad frees he gave away and just seems to lose his head at times. Turned it around and was one who helped us shut them down. Was at least hard it in the middle.

How the hell did they come up with Cloke's stats? I saw him touch the ball twice! I agree with Snoop, he's had an appalling year.Podpicken wrote:Cloke a 1 out of 10 Snoop? Leon:- best all round 4 quarter performance ever, sensational game (just luv this bloke) !!!
Daisy:- much better performance, but I feel with his game it depends on where he is placed, what role he is asked to perform and who is/isn't tagging him.
Swany:- great game, ran hard all night.
Dids:- again, great game and ran hard.
Burnsy:- luv his work. He busted his butt, takcled hard, scored and his awareness of who is where on the ground to knock the ball out was great.
Harry:- that goal nearly made me leap out of level 3 !!! Huge improvement on the previous games. Thought it would be a miss-match on Milne, but to keep that little creep to just 2 goals was great (god I can't stand that little piss-ant)
Bear:- great to see him back in the seniors and performing well, have watched him in the reserves and especially against Frankston with rucking, roving, dropping back ad forward............ good stuff.
Swanny:- good hard effort.
Pendles:- still not 100% on what he was last year but a good solid game and those elusive skills where time seems to stop when he gets the ball will never cease to amaze me.
Trav:- ok, by his standards not a good night but was held well but still made a presence and did ok.
Rocca:- second and third effort were great to see.
Medders:- i'm just luv'n this guy, he's a totally different player in the black and white and although he didn't kick a bag still put in and busted his gut.
Browny:- this boy is gunna be a champion. It doesn't matter who you put him on it's as if he's never heard of them before and just goes out there and does his best and put's in a minimum 120%.
Nicky:- bit quiet by his standards of the last couple of years but you could never doubt his endeavour.
The thing I noticed most (mainly in the first half) was at the centre bounce the Aints always had a player that would break free and start sprinting to their forward line, the ball would be won or spill, get to that FREE man and off they go to to their attacking 50. This sort of thing really needs to be picked up much earlier/quicker, it could of killed us (if their forward were on song).
Good effort by the boy's, bloody glad to get the 4 points now let's get going for next week and the handbaggers !!!
Beating the Aint's you made my year !!!!!

As it is, he kicks loopy helicopters which more often than not get where he meant them to, and he's lambasted week in and week out. He wins the hard ball, he's creative with his hands, and he tackles consistently. He's played 200 games for a reason and he'll be required next year.
What amazes me, is that people continue to bag OBree and sook about our pathetic clearance work.
Guess who is 2nd in the competition (with all the good teams having played already, Dogs excepting) for most clearances? Thats right, Breesy.
44 - Hayes
42 - Obree
41 - Cox and Mitchell
40 - Sewell (which pretty much highlights Hawthorns brilliance right there...2 players in the top 5).
He's also club leader and 6th in the comp for contested possessions and 2nd in tackles, He does the grunt work, and is still everyones whipping boy.
And dont say "oh but he turns it over half the time" because he isnt in our top 6 worst turnover offenders either. But Didak, Cloke, Heater and Leon all are.
Also 4th in Goal Assists.

Beautiful Zakal...been wanting that stat to shove it up the o'bree knockers.
Yet another beauty from O'bree on Friday night despite not big numbers. 200 honest games and a fitting way to celebrate it.
We were far from our best. We looked better on TV than we did at the game.
Our problem is defence. In attack we were 100 times better than against the Hawks. Rocca no doubt was the vital factor here.
However to watch the saints score with such ease was terrible. They just had so many loose men at stages.
That said, we did tighten up in the 2nd half. Our 1st quarter defence was hopeless. We'll have to step up in defence next week to stand a chance. Geelong a vulnerable.
Im not talking about our back 6...im talking about our middle 6. Too many loose men floating around.
