Collingwood had 9 players with <10 possessions. Carlton had only 2.
In other words Carlton played with 20 effective contributors against our 13.
Yet we had 8 players >20 possessions and Carlton had 9.
Our core of good players are as good as any.
Do we lack depth?
Not good enough.
We carried too many passengers today.
Next stop North Melbourne...all change for the express to Jolimont.

I hate blaming people for anything, however its crystal clear Toovey is not AFL standard, its unfortunate but whoever keeps selecting Toovey needs to get over it, he contributes, but doesnt do enough.
His height is good, disposal ok, but decision making is not good enough. And you dont learn decision making...........
Cox, Wellingham, Reid possibly Iles are the players who MIGHT have the tools to become AFL footballers.
Stanners was off the pace, shocking decision to bring him into a game like this, what where they thinking. The game in dubai clearly showed he doesnt react quick enough to move into an AFL game without looking slow. He either needs to be an incredible exractor or quick thinker with his tool set and its obvious Stanners is neither, so he will not at this stage be of any use on an AFL field. If anything will turn it over and be exploited. I think he should make it as an AFL player, but he needs to think and react a lot quicker.
1 man forward line yet MM doesnt have the thought of flooding fev out of the game? why is that? wtf happened.
too tall and slow up forward, OB was off, neon too until the 2nd half, FFS if neon is not getting the ball tell him to go and get it and forget about his position.
We had them covered, but got beaten all over the ground, the coaches failed to react, and failed to win THE GAME we should have.
i am pissed off that we got done like that.

the only thing cheering me up right now is that this result is only a hiccup for us
for them, its gonna be a season highlight.

This is where stats can be misleading. Carlton had a lot of uncontested possessions that would have padded the numbers of some of their lesser players.die4pies wrote:Collingwood had 9 players with <10 possessions. Carlton had only 2.

The best thing about the loss is I cleaned up. Had the Points split and pushed one further ahead in the tipping comp I am in. It was so predictable that they were set to win. You can thank the media. I will have some money on Melbourne this week to do the same. It's April and this is our game. A week is a long time in football.

The only positive to come out of this game is we were lucky it was on ch 7 not ch Ten and we didn't have to listen to Walls & Lane slapping their fists under the commentary desk as they spanked their monkeys!
Never disperse your focus unless absolutely necessary. Face one adversary at a time!

We showed Carlton no respect yesterday.
Out coached, out tackled, out pressured, didnt move it quick enough & disposal was very poor. Basically beaten at our own game. Need more run & carry against sides that sit back like Carlton did yesterday...

This W L W L bullshit has to stop! We need to start stringing games together.
We are a LONG way off the teams at the top at this stage, clearly not good enough!
