i don't have the answer dtm but maybe it's cos it's a long season and the nab cup is not that important. i could come up with any number of reasons but only mm and co will know. should we be calling for the sack? that would be going early, even by your lofty standards. :)

I thought about it but I still can't see why he is not Playing. Did he get Traded because he want's Game Time?

Because he's still a kid mate, and ruckman can be prone to injury.

Think about it.

Do we want our future ruckman of the next 10 years bashing into blokes for 30 games a year like Fraser was when he was 18-19, or should we ease him into it and make sure he is there through the important months and more so years.

No need to rush the big fella. Bryan's body is harder and honestly we need Bryan to get some gametime behind him to incase Fraser or Wood go down.

Lockyer will be the 'acting' Captain for this match. Not sure what will happen afterwards, probably share it around on a rotational basis, until the club decides to announce who will be the new Captain.

Bit shattered about Wood not playing but that is only due to my greed of wanting him to play.

There may be other reasons as well other than wanting to preserve him. The game is in Dubai and it will take a lot more out of the players you would think. COnditions will probably be hot and humid, we are backing up from an intense month of training and he may be a bit worse for ware. We all know he chucked up in his first training session last year.

This will be his first year shouldering a large amount of the ruckwork so preserving him is the way to go. Also gives Bryan one last crack to prove himself.

That said, Adelaide have a terrible ruck division and it was a chance to get some form into him. I dare say however that he will play the next game whether it be a practice game or another NAB cup game provided it is in Melbourne.

Very suprised to see Rocca and Wakelin in the team.

Despite a few new guys not been named like Dawes, Wood and Wellingham...im still very excited to see Brown and Anthony in action
There's more to life than footy.........just not much more.

Fraser, Rocca & Wellingham out. Fraser is NQR, Rocca is home and Wellingham is paying the price for being .05.
