Very very fabulous win!!! It was such a great game to watch, but the commentators...they sounded depressed when they realised the Swans were gone  Bad, really bad!!!!

If the boys can keep that level of football going when they come West then I see no reason why they couldn't beat the Weagles.
With the standard of play from Sat night I would be confident in them matching it with even a full strength Weagles in WA.
Great time for them to find close to peak form and Pebbles last night was amazing. To look like he was gone for all money with a serious knee injury and to return and play like that, well maybe we need to hire Tonya Harding to come over and give his knee another wack before he goes out into the field next week.

Terrific win. Dont think they did themselves any good disrespecting us all week saying it was their worst two games......I mean f&*k it, not real smart.

It was funny I was watching the prelim in 02 where we beat Adelaide (gee J.Cloke played a good game but alas) it was just the extrordinary amount of pressure we put on them that got us up. And we did it again last night. They just suffocated.

Thought it was a team performance to be fair - everyone chipped in when required. Rocca and Cloke were sensational, the former contested marks a highlight. Clokes run and presentation was something to be very excited about. For a 20yo to be still running that hard at season end it quite staggering.

Thought MM coached aggressively by starting players like Davis, Thomas and Didak in the middle in the first qtr. It paid off handsomely as each got clearances and allowed the likes of BUrns, OBree, Swan to be saved for later.

The backs were solid again save for a 10 min period, which was the only time Sydney actually looked anything like dominating the game. They kicked 4 goals and we went into half time only 10 pts up - when Rusling 5 min prior was kicking to put us 39pts up. Still it wasnt the backs fault - the ball was coming out of our back half easily and thru the middle with no pressure. Very hard to keep it up though for 4 full qtrs.

The small fwds were good. Particularly Meddy and Didak, Davis good but in shorter bursts. Meddy competed hard and seems to have really found his place amongst the group. Rusling was terrific in the first half and probably got a bit tired.

Of the mids they were all good including OBree whose want to kick off his left under no tackle pressure didnt hurt us at all. Pendles is a class act and how he did not win the Rising Star is beyond me. Lockyer beat his tag for mine and his run was a highlight. When he runs he looks so good.

Gee our backline is good. Led by Wakes and Clement we were in control all night. Clement is just getting better and Wakes may have to rethink retirement. Wakes smashed Barry - I think Barry only took 1 mark in the fwd 50 which was in junk time and was probably a free anyway. My apologies to OBrien, I had you out of the team but your ability to fight back was a credit to you. Maxy = tough, Heater was brillient - his best game for 2-3 months for mine. Clarke probably had close to his best game. His decision making under pressure and skill were v good.

Richards beat Jolly I thought and actually begs the question should we be putting our hand up for Jolly, Fraser - gosh your good. People dont get you - i do. What you can do on a field is amazing.

Think that covers everyone but the coach - well done MM, it would not have been easy last night and i think you pulled Roos's pants down again. They have no respect for us and hopefully this morning they are sore and sorry.

why did we only get 64,645 to the game? :? good crowd in any estimation seeing the dorks only managed 36,500 but i would've thought it was a great opportunity to see the pies in finals action.

sydney's fault. that'll do me.

unreal. well, now we know what the club saw in rusling - he can do that in his first game back and in his first final. he is really a handful to match up on and we now have three tall forwards who are all firing. makes it very interesting. great to see so many of the young guys step up in their first final. bring it on cokeheads !!!!

Fantastic Win. The boys were switched on tonight, a totally different side from last week. Intensity was terrific, hard at it all night. Burnsy you bloody legend, more than once saw him throw himself into a tackle while others seemed to just let it be. Shit I wish we hade made the 4, no doubt we would have beaten port playing like that. Great to seem them kick long and high into the foward line, I thought Rocca was gonna do a shoulder given the amout of time he signalled to kick it high. I've said it all year give our forwards half a chance at a contested mark and they'll grab it. This is Rocca's strength, not on a lead, we should maximise it.

Edit: P.S. Friggen umpires, wish mcburney would do a hamstring (sorry Donny).

First time for many years Rocca has been playing one out. Stating the obvious, three good forwards, means one cannot be tripple or double teamed.

I take my hat off to Rusling and the Collingwood management. I had him summed up as potentially an average / good player. The sky now seems the limit - if he keeps on improving from here.

Daisy was down, but if he had of kicked one of those goals on the run, people would be saying he had a great match. Despite being down (not as clean as usual) At least he did contribute and remember he was tagged by Dempster. Thomas ripped them to pieces earlier in the year and Roos identified him as key play maker to tag out of the game.

I am about to watch the 10 am replay and can't wait!

For next week beware the wounded eagle! however, if we play near our best we will win.

Thanks guys for all your great comments. This my favorite website by far!!!!

Not a single passenger last night, not a single passenger. The first time I have been able to say that all year.

We take that commitement into the next three games and I may just dare to dream!

Well done boys!

Our best game all year. And we can get better - Didak, Buckley and Fraser will all be better for the run and, as has been pointed out already, thomas wasn't his most damaging.

The intensity won it for us - we just need to suffocate the eagles the same way next week. We can't relax - but then who relaxes in finals football? :) That's the first game I've seen Sydney make so many mistakes due to pressure for a long long time. Well done boys!

I have a question: Where was the winners circle? I know its been moved to the cricket nets, but I don't know where they are! haha.

Fantastic win. Everyone put in 100%, no passengers. Great to see our forward line in full flight. Cloke, Rocca, Ruz all on fire, unstoppable.
