One of our very best wins of the year. Congratulations to big Guy, fantastic effort. Bucks was brilliant and I would like to give a special mention to Shane Wakelin who totally outclassed the biggest SOOK going around. One of his goals was a blatant free to Wakes and he whinged about everything.Rusling is a star and the mid feild is coming good at the right time. The world is once again....BEWDIFULL..

Great win for Bucks and the boys.
I was at the game and also listened in to MMM. Could not believe the crap they came out with. Their Sydney bias was incredible.
Who was the moron that kept saying the umpires were being influenced by the Collingwood crowd? Not in the first quarter they weren"t!
I think Rocca was an idiot to do what he did, leading up to the finals, given the previous occasion that saw him suspended a few years ago - although contact was minimal I thought.
What Buchannan did to Marty was pretty ordinary, if Johnno got 6, he should definitely get a minimum of 4.
I am very concerned about our injury toll from this game and would love to know what happened to several of our players:
Leon - apparently 'fainted'.
Daisy - did his shoulder (how?) and then hurt it again in another tackle late in the game.
Nick - was flat on his back for the whole 3/4 time break - what happened?
Tarks was also flattened by someone early on in the game.
Can anyone shed any light on the above?
Rapt that Bucks made it through what was a pretty tough game.

What a great night! A beautiful Melbourne day - lead into a beautiful night. The roar from the crowd when Bucks led the team out was sensational! SO GOOD to see him back!!!!! Also loved the way the crowd cheered and roared when he took a mark late into the last quarter! Wonderful atmosphere overall.
Loved Jimmy's goal!
I thought we played FOUR quarters last night, great intensity from the boys, and tackling verocious! Our best game for weeks for sure.
Great to see Ruz have a real influence, he really gives us yet another option up forward.
For those who listen to MMM - why not switch off??? ABC is generally pretty good (no ads!) and Jarrod is always very insightful.
Great win - but MUST beat Crows on Friday. GO PIES!

The overseas magpies would love to switch off (john b and swooper) but the AFL usually gives us a choice of MMM or 3AW.
AW was fine last night without Rex, but as others here have attested, MMM was appalling. I did switch off and just followed Nick's Live Scoreboard. Thanks again people.
There's no point spilling your guts in here about MMM. It is a commercial operation that runs for profit. If their commentators are alienating the largest slice of its audience then management will act. Ring, email or write to them on Monday morning as soon as their office opens (9am). If they are bombarded with reasonable criticism, they will be forced to have a look at it.
I will be writing to them (again!) and don't expect a reply but I will leave Lee Simon in no doubts as to my opinions on this:
The B Team at MMM became the Z Team on Saturday night.
Most of this call sounded as if was eminating from some student training radio school. It was not up to AFL standard by a long shot.
To this listener overseas, the call was virtually useless; most of the time I had no idea where the ball was or what the score was.
After 15 mins I rebooted the AFL site and went over to 3AW whose B Team sounded a million dollars by comparison.
MMM can do much better and needs to do so. I suspect thousands of other Collingwood supporters were similarly insulted by the standard of the commentary and the disrespect shown to our club.
The President's response was justified Lee and I certainly hope that your response is just as swift.
Yours etc.
Come on Pie People let them know that they were grossly insulting.

After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!
Collingwood rules the world again and Mick Malthouse fulfils his destiny with the twenty ten premiership and can you hear the people sing!

I have to say it's been a while since I have had goose bumps when a player has ran onto the ground and I did when Bucks did. It was awesome. His first kick to Thommo which became a goal was great. If Bucks had of kicked a goal they would have heard it on the space station. We may just have to wait for another week.the ru is on fire wrote:too right culprit. me and my geelong supporting mate were going to sleep every time sydney got the ball.
what about when bux came onto the ground. i got totally swept away in the moment. haven't been that excited since prelim '02.

yeah, he was pretty pissed about the whole rocca situation... I thought he got a totally bum deal in the '03 grannie, but back then we didn't have a lot of cover for his position. Still, I wouldn't have used Cloke! (of the Jason variety). This year he might get one week for that, if he's lucky. It was an open hand. It depends on his history and how the points add up, not sure how that works exactly. Not too worried. We did all right without him when we played St.Kilda and now we have Ruz, Bucks and Travis hitting his straps. Not worried at all. I just hope Buchanan gets at least three. That was an elbow in there, for sure. Marty could've been knocked out.
Congrats Bucks, on a great return! Bring on the Crows!

Great Win. Fantastic to see Jimmy back on song. I knew he would slam home that massive torp. I was wrapped with Medhurst around the ground. Our tackling was brillant. Rusling's leading was sensational he will trouble a lot of sides. Lets pray Rocca gets spared for once. Goldsack was handy. Scotty Burns was brillant, along with Swanny , great to see Bucks back shooting out some killer passes. How was Jimmy Clement's tackle on sissy boy Nick Davis? loved it!
