Make that 4 Ahems. Agree Cam. I mentioned it earlier but said it was in the third. It was the 4th. And Richards got the tap. Was nearly right in front of me in and I was in Level 2. Also saw it on the afl.com highlights. Richards clearly got the tap.

Soon as he hit it there I said "dangerous place to hit it" Before I could complete the sentance Krackuor kicked the goal.

My 2 cents worth is that Richards won't make it. This will be his last season. Hope I'm wrong. But I doubt it. Bring in Bryan and see if he has more to offer.

Fantastic win. Just finished watching the replay.

How good is it to have a forward with the cockiness and assurance of Medders. He wants to take the crucial set shots. Like Cometti said; "that's his stock in trade." And his forward pressure is good as well.

Someone else mentioned Leon's 1%'ers. They've improved heaps in the last few weeks.

What a great 2nd half burns and Rocca were awesome and obree very good but the kids how good was it to see kids playing well for us.
Wakes and Lonie might find it hard to get a game this year. and we still have Ried and Brown to have a crack also goldsack.
still to come back in
Bucks
didak
clement
holland
egan
Ben johnson
5 automatic selections there so who would you drop?
Well for 1 I would take Lonie any day of the week ahead of Egan, also got Bryan to come in and give us a ruckman who doesnt make you cringe every time he gets the ball

Brodie may find himself at Willy for a while untill he can force his way back due to his problems being discipline on field. Jimmy will definately replace Wakes, Licca will make way and I doubt we will keep playing the kids all year, probably about 10-15 games at most for alot of them, keep rotating them through around the senior core and once finals is out of the equation then throw them all back in
Eddiesmith I would probably take Lonie over egan at this stage also. My post said five auto selections and there was 6 players mentioned Egan been the 6th player. I do think Lonie will struggle to get back in unless he plays well at willy he just isn't tough enough. But his run and kicking is a big plus. Lonie can be great in a good team but he IMHO needs good players around him or he normally sucks. On Bryan he is out for a week but I also would like to see him play over Richards at this stage.

Stoked with Medhurst's goals, Lockyer was good, Burns clearance and kick to Medhurst was pure class. Great to see Rocca set up Toovey. T.Cloke needs to hold his marks. His kick to Rocca when he took the one hander was brillant. Fantastic to beat those yellow wigged tuggers! suffer dumb punt road end!

We should not forget Richards effort in the ruck last night. It was his best game by far and his 'clanger rate' was down - at last he seems to be putting his body in and is learning where to tap the ball. I think he and Fraser may have some good 'combo, going that is going to give better supply to our mid fielders. Great win - the spirit and intensity is at last back!

Rassberry. IMO The quicker we get Bryan in for Richards the better.

He got some nice taps and that was all he contributed. And of course that lovely tap in the Tiges Forward pocket in the third towards goal and into space that resulted to a goal to Kracker! I bite my tounge evertime he gets the ball.
I also thought that it was Richards best game. His taps at the centre bounce gave us the clearance many times. He has a better leap than Josh who often seems to be brushed aside. I think that he obviously his position is at the centre bounce freeing up Josh to play around the ground.
I mean surely you can give him credit when he plays a good game?

greg
Hear Hear! Also thought his play around the ground was an improvement again. Keeps taking little steps forward. Given that he hasn't played a lot of footy in the last few years I think that there is still an enormous amount of untapped potential with this kid.

Everybody is actually being critical of the first half but I think it was actually only 15-20 minutes in the first quarter where things actually seemed to go the way of the Tigers. I would suggest that the second quarter is where we started the turn around. Even the most critical/negative assessment of Q2 must show that we broke even with them.

Q3 and Q4 were all the Pies as were the the start and end of Q1.

I think people who post on here need to realise that a glass that is half empty is also half full... Look to the many positives rather than focus on any negative!

Was indeed a great victory on Friday night. Desperately need to back it up with a victory over Port this weekend, with there big man Brogan ruled out and Pearce doubtful theres no excuses for us.

A major concern is that we havent been able to put together 4 good consistent quarters, so next week we must play ourselves into form so we can tackle tough matches against Essendon and Adelaide in the following weeks. As stated in the herald sun, we have only lead 24% of all game time this year! So this makes next week even more crucial than it first looks.

Secondly, ill like to point out, we are more than likely to win more games in the second half of the season. Taking into consideration that the final 10 games of the year are all played at TD or MCG. We have no travelling to do, and play 3 interstate teams during this time.

I would happily take a 7-5 win ratio for our first 12 games, if we can get over PA this weekend we would be ahead of the 8 ball without even firing a shot!

Also, he hasnt been mentioned all that much. But i think O'Brien's aggressive and positive attack on the ball is having a real decisive effect on his team mates. We havent had this type of player in the black and white for a long-time, and all in all crasher and basher(eg:molloy). He plays the game with tremendous confidence, poise and self assurance, and anyone whose played as apart of a team before would know that these particular qualities are cancerous! His overall kicking and reading skills may not be excellent(yet far from poor), but he makes up for it in pounds with his ability to inspire his team mates to another level. I really feel like this bloke has nailed his spot across half back. Would love to see him throw his body in a centre bounce situation. His exciting!

5 ahems

Krakouer kicked 3 goals: from memory, one early in the match, one from a second of poor judgment by Rhyce Shaw when he attacked the contest deep in the defensive 50 rather than minding his man (Krakouer); the other from a brilliant Simmonds (not Richards) tap.

I remember swearing my head off at Richards too and then after seeing it on slow-mo replay, bit my tongue. It was only a deft touch and richards almost got it, but it was a deft touch to simmonds. But even if I'm correct, i concede it was still poor defensive work by Richards and the other collingwood players to leave the goal side of the bounce so wide open.

That's how I remember it and I will go back it and watch it again tonight to prove myself either right or wrong

Wasn't that Pendleberry who made the mistake in defence that Krakouer kicked the goal from not R Shaw. Pendle looked very dissapointed in his effort.

Nah it was definitely Racer. I recall Pendlebury making a defensive mistake at some stage and showing his disappointment but I can't remember the circumstances exactly.

Well let us know of the outcome. :) I'll still back what I saw and my aging memory :)

Still thought Richards was a 3 out of 10. And you guys are calling it a great game! for the handfull of good taps he got that was evened out with very poor disposal. What about the handball after the kick out in the 1st Q. missed the target and had little pressure on him. Caused a turn over. And then of course is his junior Giraffe kicks. I don't want to bag the crap out of the guy, but ........ I'm just calling it as I'm seeing it.

I guess I don't put huge value on taps. The one to burns in the last Q is worth its weight in gold (can also put that down to Burns' good play too). Worth about 2 possessions. But there is only about 2-3 of those a game. The rest of the taps he gets are not worth much at all IMO. It's just preventing the other Ruck from getting it. I believe a Ruck has to be an option around the ground. Be able to either plug a hole down back or kick a goal or 2. And this is where Richards does very little. And when he does get it its nearly a liability.

I hope he blossoms and becomes a gun or just holds down the ruck postion so that we don't get cained there. I hope what you see in him, out weighs what I see.

I dont think Guy Richards has the ability or body to ever be a gun ruckman.

All we can hope is that he'll be a serviceable backup to Fraser. His a tap ruckman, and doesnt add anything to our team around the field. Would prefer Bryan at full fitness. That bloke atleast knows to throw his weight around. Will be interesting to see how he goes when he gets a run. Although it looks like Richards will be given a lengthy run to consolidate his spot.
