Baker is absolute scum, hope gets rubbed out for at least half the bloody season.

Finds the littlest bloke on the field and knocks him out cold behind play, first year draftee all of 18 and 68kgs -what a hero, should be made an example off.

Get on Heater for the Brownlow, I am telling you he has the game to grab Charlie.

It was heartening to see the Pies put in that performance.
All the young kids showed a bit, in particular Pendles who was outstanding.
He kicked a great goal after dodging a few and we actually towelled the Saints up in the middle.
We shut the game down well in the third when the Saints' got a bit of a run on and bottled it up.
Cloke looked good up forward, Reid showed a bit as well, but went off with what looked to be something with his lower back.
I didn't see the Baker incident but it was definately behind play and their was a scuffle at half-time.
I don't think any punches were thrown, but i could be wrong.

My best were: Heater, Pendles, Fraser. Pretty much everyone contributed.

Daisy did some nice things and worked hard, he kicked a great goal after roving a pack (Front and square).

I think Daisy is going to be one of those enigmatic players who floats in and out of games and does a couple of "special" things. If we are lucky they will be at the most important times possible.

just got back from the game....it is hard to read much into it as the saints were without so many players (no reiwoldt, kosi, hudghton, x.clarke, gardiner, m.clarke, hamill, hayes, thompson, montagna, l.fisher)

fraser and cloke impressed

reid was promising, cox was good, toovey showed glimpses

the main centre square set up was obree, burns and leon in the middle with pendles and h.shaw on the wings

pendles was all class today, i dunno what it is about him but he never gets tackled and always dishes out great handballs....kicked a great goal too, picked the ball up in traffic and avoided about 5 players before snapping the goal

i dont think clement was going to play but when medhurst and dick were out for the 2nd half he started to warm up at half time

still missing were bucks, didak, holland, rocca, johnson, r.shaw and rusling

Excellent game by the pies. Heath Shaw was the star, great performances from Davis, Pendlebury, Fraser, Cloke, Lockyer. Everyone played well really. Cook and Cox both impressed me alot, as did Reid. I honestly think Heath Shaw is a future captain, he was amazing. Pendlebury will be our number 1 midfielder in a couple of years, I know everyone has been saying it, but he just has so so much time... goes in hard, reads the play well... shitloads of skill. He looks the goods. Thomas looked a lot better tonight, excellent disposal, good hands and as usual chased very well. Swan wasn't in it as much as usual, but still played very well... gonna be a gun too. Leon in the midfield was outstanding I thought. Also, I thought Iles was a lot better than what he showed last year. Well done pies.

Lot to look forward to Pies fans. Not this year but we shouldn't have to wait much longer. I know the saints had a lot out but geez our kids showed some poise today, and they're a great mix. We've got the class of guys like Pendles, Daisy and Dick (looked really lively until injured - great at putting on forward pressure, he is seriously quick!), the grunt of Heater, Swan, Illes, Nichols etc. Some good key position players coming through in guys like Cloke, Reid and Brown and some gutsy backs like Maxwell (absolutely fearless) and Anthony. Left scumbag park feeling really positive!

Two great positives in the ruck as well. Firstly, and despite dropping a sitter for his first touch, Stretch played one of the best games I've seen him play. I know it's only March, but he looked good, got his hands on the ball first, and positioned himself well around the ground. Second, Chris Bryan looked the goods as well. Set up Medhurst in the first quarter with a beautiful tap behind. One of the first goals I've seen for us from a direct tap in frigging years! He also seems to have a bit of the black dog in him. Was only a little thing, but at half time when the melee was on Bryan ran full tilt from the bench to the far half forward flank to have a crack. Heater actually had to sprint in front of him to hold him back - seemed realy keen to fly the flag which I loved.

Overall, really pleased for the kids who all showed a bit, and genuinely positive about the future.

Was most impressed with Pendles. I'm happy to tip him for the brownlow within 3 years, as the kid just oozes class. I thought our rucks looked much better today, and i'm quite impressed with Bryan who manages to get involved in the game all over the ground. Travis looked very exciting down forward where his mobility is going to cause a lot of headaches for backmen this year. Also, young chopper Reid took a few good marks down forward, and should have had a few goals next to his name, but for a touch of the nerves. When he fills out he'll be an exciting player for sure.
