Not slow Mudlark, lazy. He is as quick as a flash when he can be bothered.

Despite the unpolished performance, the final margin flattered the Hawks. If our accuracy in front of goal was a little better it would've been ugly!!... ahhh...uglier!! The Hawks made us look good,... well better?!?!?! Still, 45points is 45 points - comprehensive enough!
Thought we looked liked we wanted it which is always a good sign!

Looking forward to a momentum building August 8)

Yeah , I agree as I just watched the game again, but geez he kicks into opposition players alot and maybe his perception is slow.He seems to panic when he gets the ball and doesn't quite know what to do with it when he gets it.

You know, when I think about it now, I'm glad we didn't thrash the Hawks by 100 points.... have you ever noticed how one team will come off a massive victory and play a team coming off a big loss, and what do you know, the latter team wins. Obviously this doesn't happen all the time, so I can't prove that it's true, but I have noticed it in the past. I think it's got to do with over-confidence. The team coming off the big win thinks they're invincible, and the team coming off the loss are really pushed extra hard to win (especially if they're a good team). The good thing is the pies players will not be feeling the least bit cocky after the Hawthorn win. I just wish that Adelaide had won on Saturday so that they could well and truly underestimate us, the way I suggest they underestimated the Eagles.

too true, DfC. i am very wary of 100 point thumpings nowadays. i'll take 45-75 point thumpings any day (unless it's carlton)

on the match, i wasn't overly impressed, even the first half had some sustained periods of boring and uninspired footy from both sides.

thought it was a 10 goal type of win though, taz's inability to put it through on 5 out of 6 occasions did not give due credit to the team performance or his own performance (he and rocca were working the forward line brilliantly).

great to see the clokes back (they should have a sitcom written about them - anyone?).

I am very concerned about the loss of Leon, there goes some of our midfield depth, and who can cover him - rusling? thomas? egan? caracella? well i rate leon pretty highly, the resurgance / emergence of leon and didak has been one of our keys to success this year (come on leon baggers, where are you today?).

We need another ruck for adelaide next week, but i wouldn't be changing too much for next week. Licuria?

I think Niall is actually a Pies supporter (correct me if I'm wrong).

As for 100 point thumpings and the following weeks, I don't think we actually, properly, came off the Geelong high until round 16 against the Eagles.

Obviously a Hawthorn supporter, and I couldn't agree more, the Pies got a shocking run from the umps.
Mate, if you think we were hard done by, then you're delusional. Sure the hawks got a couple of cheap decisions like the heath shaw one but ours were way worse.

Not saying that they should have won, we were by far the better team (or they were by far the crapper team) but its ridiculous to think the pies always get screwed by the umpires after every match
