From my perspective from where I was sitting, the ball just didn't seem to stay in our forward 50 much.

Whenever it went into the 50, if our forwards didn't mark it, then it was straight back out.

Whereas whenever the ball went into Freo's forward 50, there'd be several contests that would either result in us driving out of defence, a bounce, or a goal/behind to them.

(Note: I missed most of the first quarter.)

Shocking disposal, second guessing, etc etc, seemed to be the theme for the day yesterday.

Perhaps the real Collingwood has stood up.

At least it was a better effort than last week,.. & the week before - Still obviously NOT good enough!
I have been saying this for a month now, but some of the handballs yesterday were just terrible. OK, you handball 1 meter behind someone as they are running past you = skill error. Handball to someone who is flat footed with 5 opposition players milling around him = STUPID!!!!

I find it amazing that we can go from playing great football a month a go to what they pretend to play now. We would struggle to beat Carlton and Essendon on our current form which is a worry.

Absolutely spot on Culpit. Still shaking my head and buggered if I know how MM can turn things around. I saw some VERY ordinary body language out there yesterday from some of the Collingwood players. They each need a full week of counselling sessions with 22 sports psychologists at the moment instead of footy training in my humble and honest view. Games are mostly won above the shoulders with excellent decision making skills when you have the ball. Yesterday, some of these decisions were bloody astoundingly stupid, pathetic, awful and damn frustrating to watch. They need to THINK of the right options first and THEN implement it on the field. Collingwood have stopped thinking and are playing by memory at the moment.

The two worst I saw -
1. Obree in the last line of defense handballing to Pendles who is putting on a shepherd for him - result goal to the Duckers,
2. Fannng marking in the midlle of the ground (back to his goal) and not turing around and running but stationary waiting until someone runs past him for a handball - result everyone is manned up - and turnover.

It is like they are scared of the stats and have forgotten how to play football - and win.

MM needs to throw away the stats sheets this week and just tell the guys to go out and play - with no ramifications about the stats.

I recon that it was a disgrace.....Here we are trying to stay in the race for the finals....there are 6 or 7 games to go,we have lost the past 4 games, and it reminds me very much of the 'colliwobbles'
I had friends with me watching the game last night on FF and they recon that the PIES had 'bumble fingers' and that FREO has an extra man on the field,BUT I must admit that FREO were more hungry for the ball.

Should be interesting next week against WCE.....what will the difference in scores be and PLEASE dont give us McClaren as a central umpire, after what he did to the Swans......
