On Ch 10 sports news, they just had MM and 'Freddy' Fanning. he will be named on monday. They were making comparisons with Brogan of Port in that he is expected to successfully make the transition from NBL to AFL. Ch 10 called it a 'surprise selection', but it was hardly a surprise in my opinion what with rogan and guy richards out.

My main concern would be Darcy going forward and giving Fanning a bath, especially with Fannings tendency to fumble and drop marks. Dogs have good crumbing forwards as well.

Will Rhyse play and if so on who?

How is Cooney coming along? Haven't seen much to set the world on fire so far.

I'll be bloody happy if Johnson is out but Rohan Smith is still a big concern.

But we have had a fair pre-season despite injuries and should win.

Cam, Tarrant, Rocca- Tell why we would play Walker forward?
Reason a) He scored has six scoring shots as a forward last time we played them

Reason b) He has trained and played there all summer. It would be cruel to send him down back after developing well as a forward.
And c) He took one of the marks of the year against them last time we played them too

Fanning was beaten early in the 2nd quarter of the Sydney trial match... Josh had to step in the stem the tide of goals. But he did the rucking a bit later and did quite well.

My point is that it will be hard for Fanning with no back up ruckman to assist him. Not just to rotate the ruck but an expirenced ruckman giving him advice on the ground.

Fanning might get beat on the day but I think he should be a definate selection for each round, particularly until Josh gets back.

But saying that, Fanning has already showed he has the ability to win the ball in the ruck. At the Sydney Community Camp he consistantly beat Josh in the middle.

I think Fanning could do very well for us against the Dogs.

Eddie mentioned something on the footy show about special guests on Monday at the game. Any idea what he was talking about?

Hall of Fame inductees? Lap of Honour? Maybe something to do with the new Collingwood stand?

Yeah, I guessed it was something to do with the new stand, because he said it just after talking about the stand.

Bulldogs have named Darcy, Street, Minson and Skipper in there squad. Eade might play 2 or 3 of these guys as we have Fanning as our Number one ruckman which would make you think we might go in with a taller than average bench.

O'bree in the rucks? atleast lonie is on the wing. I would prefer to see burns in the rucks and rowe on field instead of obree but a solid looking team

I see Lonie is named on the wing, just like I hoped. Good to see.
